Smiling Jack

Jack!

My name is Jack.

Jack likes to smile.

Jack is seven years old.

Momma likes Jack when he's nice.

She doesn't like Jack when he's angry.

Jack's scary when he's angry.

Jack kills when he's angry.

Now Momma don't like Jack.

Because Momma was in Jack's way when he was angry.

Jack killed Momma.

Jack is all alone now.

Jack is sad.

I want my mommy back! Where did she go? Hopefully she went to heaven! Mommy! Mommy, where are you?

I stand in our house, and I look all over for mommy. Where could she be? Mommy, just answer me!

But Mommy was gone. I knew it. Death took her away.

But everybody has a past. Jack had a past. Now Jack has a present and a future.

Jack grew up.

But Jack grew happy and angry too.

Because everybody grows up.

I just did it differently.
