"Alright, I will see you later," a woman said who's wearing a pale fitted maong jeans and an aqua marine top. She had a nice tall figure for a woman.

"Emerald!" Another girl shouted named Min-ji. The voice was high-pitched that it caught the attention of many people.

That girl then looked back, her hair being blown by the wind. She looked pretty; she had eyes that reflected like an emerald towards the sun.

"Yah! Didn't I tell you that we'll meet later?" Emerald exclaimed but still smiled. They laughed as they walked towards a café.

"Hmm, how was my vacation in Europe?" Emerald repeated Min-ji's question.

"It's fine, I guess," she said, laughing awkwardly. She looked hesitant though, she kept looking by the window of the restaurant.

It's been months since the two friends last saw each other.

After a while, Emerald turned around and picked up her phone as it rang and made a vibrating sound on top of the table.

"I'll just answer this call. Wait for me, Min-ji," Emerald instructed as she stood up from her seat, on her way to the restroom.

[Is everything happening according to what you told me?] A voice asked with a hint of anger and curiosity.

The voice that will always remain in her heart. The voice of the man whom she will never forget.

"It's precise. The time Min-ji came, her questions, actions; and those guys are also here. Everything's been planned out. I don't think anything would change anymore," Emerald exclaimed.

[I'll send my men there. Just wait! Don't act irrationally.]

"I'm not acting irrationally, number of lives are on the line because of me! I'm their target here, I'm the one who should vanish. That way, I won't die with regrets!"

The other line remained silent. It wasn't the time to joke around for the two of them.

Emerald's arrival was just exactly the arrival of the new season — autumn. It was the season, the perfect time for their year to be fun, full of falling leaves and petals, natural fragrances that was supposed to make their days more exciting. People believe that it was the utopian flow for everyone to live happily.

The falling leaves represented a lot of meanings. What could it be for them?

"I...I have to leave now, I'll ask Min-ji to go home and I'll tell the restaurant staff that I'm renting the whole place. Tell my secretary to bring that fucking briefcase of money beside the cabinet inside my office!"

[Emerald Yoon! You're just beside the brink of death. What? Are you on a race with your killers? Are you letting yourself get killed first?!]

"Bullshit! There's no fucking reason if I still live! No one can change my fate. I was destined to die, I can't do anything..."
