At Vihaan's House 🏘 :

Tej prefers not to beat around the bush uttering, "You did nothing wrong."

His words brought a halt to Nishi's (Nisha's) moments. Her heart races looking at him and the wailing voice turns into silent hiccups.

"You did nothing wrong. Your approach too was not wrong because no matter how politely someone would have questioned Tauji for his silence, his actions but his reaction, infact everybody's reaction would have been the same." Tej states in a calm tone.

The hiccups stop all of a sudden. Her throbbing head too stops out of the blue.

Nishi (Nisha) frowns inwardly at the sudden silence in her head she felt when Tej asks, "Do you know why?"

The teenager just stares at him.

Taking her silence as a cue to continue, he states a fact, "Because no one has ever talked to him the way you did today, let alone question his actions directly."

Tej's words make Nisha realise where she went wrong.

"No one would like to see the eldest member of their family standing like Tauji did today at your words; head hung low, eyes on the ground in shame, full of guilt. Specially when none of us ever saw him like that . . . ." Tej trails off looking at her and Nishi (Nisha) looks down at the ice-cream tub on the slab.

"We all know Tauji is not doing right by keeping his silence, but none of the elders, or even his kids never dared to confront him because he is the eldest in our family here in the town. His kids and our elders respect him way too much that they can never put him through a shameful rollercoaster even if it's necessary." Nishi (Nisha) looks up at him and Tej says softly guiding her, "It's how it is. None likes to see their parents like Mann, Shre and G did today. Tauji is the eldest member in our family, nobody saw him the way we saw him today. . . . .not even Dad. . . .he had no answers to your questions. . . .he stood there as silent as a lake." Tej explains calmly making Nishi (Nisha) stare at him.

The duo of siblings looks at Kaira who begins looking at Nishi, "No one can witness their parents getting disrespected, treated badly or feeling ashamed in front of anyone even if you did not disrespect him in any way, Nish. We all know your intentions are always good behind your actions, but, Nish . . .you need to understand this here, that we can't change the fact that no one can question Tauji directly about his personal issues. It's an unspoken rule, we are not supposed to break. In fact, it applies on all of our elders."

"And Tauji is a complete different case for Mann, Shre and G. They might not have ever gotten a chance to spend a lot of time with their father and only witnessed him distancing himself from them for years, but still, they'll never be able to see their father like that whom, all their life they saw walking his head held high." Tej says softly trying to guide her right.
