Luke
It was the end of the first day of school.
What a relief, I thought. It's not that the first day was mentally challenging, it's just the fact that I didn't want to be here. Not with these people.
I made my way to my locker, repeating my locker combination in my head to make sure I don't forget it. I had to squeeze my way through some people, but it wasn't anything I got too annoyed by.
I started walking to my locker when I saw Ashton standing near my locker. Did he need something? I walked over to him, tightening my grip on my book bag strap. He was turned away from me, looking at the direction of the lockers attached to the wall. I tapped him on the shoulder.
"Um, do you need something?" I asked blankly. Trying not to seem interested in the conversation, even though I was very was. Something about his voice calmed me, it seemed innocent, yet manly.
Ashton quickly turned around, smiling goofily. The school lights captures a shimmer on his white teeth.
"I'm good, mate. Do YOU need something?" He questioned back.
Was he sassing me? This got me a bit aggravated. "No, I don't need anything, especially not from someone like you."
I quickly spit out the words, not even realising what I had just said. But having no regrets either.Ashton's smile suddenly dropped, his eyes studying mine, slightly squinting too. His eyebrows drew together in a confused matter, "Excuse me, did I do something to anger you?" He asked, in a sympathetic way.
I ignored his question and brushed pasted him to get to my locker. I realised Ashton hasn't moved away from my locker yet, but he still continued doing something.
After I was finished putting all my books away, he still wasn't gone. What does he need? Why can't he just go away? Doesn't he get that I don't like him? All these questions were boggling in my mind. For some odd reason I got hot headed, I slammed my locker shut and practically shouted at him.
"WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO AWA-" I paused, looking down at him. The locker next to mine was open, he was in the middle of unpacking before I had shouted at him, he was frightened, his lips quivering. That's when I realised how stupid I was. He wasn't a clingy friend, his locker was just next to mine.
"I, uh, sorry. I just thought-" I stammered with my words, feeling a rush of colour coming onto my cheeks. I looked at his hazel coloured eyes, he still hadn't moved his gaze away from me.
He was stunned at my sudden outrage.
Ashton quickly got himself back together and responded, "No, it's uh, it's fine. You just scared me a bit." He mumbled under his breath, throwing his head down.
His hair looked so golden, I just wanted to run my hands through it and tell him how much I'm sorry for the sudden outrage. But I can't do that, that would be weird. That wouldn't be normal. That would make it seem I care even more after actually apologising to him.
I stared at his slumped head for a few seconds before I decided not to do anything about it and finally go home.
Home at last.
A/N: Sorry I haven't updated in so long, I've been busy. I was planning on putting up this chapter tomorrow, but I figured that was too long of a wait. :-(
