______
If frustration and anger could burn holes in walls, Jungkook's stare would have already burned a giant one in the wall of his room. Usually, if an unfortunate coincidence ruined his mood during the day, he wouldn't just stare at the wall like he wanted to set it on fire, but he'd rather leap on his bike and ride around the city. Something he might actually do later anyway.
He loosens his grip on the piece of paper he is holding, but he doesn't let go of it completely. Jungkook has been writing essential information on it for the upcoming race. All his challenging work has risked going to waste because of none other than his five-year-old sister. He loves her dearly, but sometimes she can be very stubborn.
When Jungkook woke up that morning, he didn't imagine things taking a turn for the worst. Nara - his sister - stalked into his room and started whining first for cuddles and then for Jungkook to play with her when all he wanted to do was to work. Usually, he doesn't mind if she demands cuddles from him or crawls into his bed and falls asleep there, but last night he had prepared everything to continue working on the preparations for the motor race the next week. However, Nara didn't stop bugging him and whining, almost ruining his notes when he told her he was busy. Even when Jungkook got upset with her, she didn't stop until Jungkook lost patience and scolded her.
As soon as she stormed out of the room crying, Jungkook started to feel guilt gnawing at his chest. Sitting on his bed and thinking about how he could approach her to apologize, Jungkook drew possibilities in his mind. The pain that flashed on her face as he scolded her, made his heart drop. Scolding is part of education, but perhaps he could have used a gentler tone.
Just as he was about to step out of his room and search for the little princess, he was stupefied to find her peering up at him with her big, brown eyes. Jungkook's urge to apologize only grew stronger when he saw her little baby teeth peeking through her soft smile. He squatted down in front of her with a gentle smile and brushed a few strands of hair behind her ear.
"What is it, Nara?" Little did he know that whatever she held in her tiny hands would make him feel even more conflicted than before.
"I'm sorry." Her bottom lip jutted out and her lips formed into a pout.
Jungkook wanted to reply, but the words died on his tongue when she shoved in his face what she was holding in her hand. Her innocent smile only made the situation worse. She did not have any clue what was going on.
"Nara..." Jungkook breathed, trying to wrap his head around his ruined work. As cute as it seemed that Nara wrote in her best writing an apology letter, Jungkook couldn't help but stare speechless and with his mouth ajar, at the sheet of paper on which he could still make out under Nara's childish writing the scrawl of words he had written the night before.
