One glance at the clock on the wall told me it was almost eight at night. I was so close to finishing up my paperwork I could almost taste the dinner I was planning on eating when I got home. I smiled a little to myself as I wrote the last bits of information on the last page.

I was just signing my name when I heard a certain accented detective’s voice.

“Guys. She’s smiling all weird to herself.”

My pen froze on the paper before I let out a quiet sigh. It had been a long day, and I just wanted to get home and relax. I really didn’t want to deal with the guy’s teasing today.

The guy’s all smiled a little but went back to their work, not taking the bait. I was just starting to feel relieved when I heard Tennoji’s next words.

“I bet she’s thinking about food again. Don’tcha ever think about anything else?”

I gripped my pen a little tighter. I really wasn’t in the mood for this, especially from him, but I didn’t want to start a fight either. I knew that wouldn’t be good for anyone. I quietly started gathering my files to turn in to Kirisawa, and just as I stood up, Tennoji just couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

“Oh look, it’s feeding time! How much are ya gonna eat tonight?”

I knew I shouldn’t have, but I just couldn’t take it anymore. I grabbed a paperweight off my desk and threw it as hard as I could at his thick-skull. It smacked him right in the forehead and he instantly yelled out in pain.

He rubbed tenderly at the oncoming bruise, glaring at me.

“What the hell was that for?!”

I clenched my fists angrily, feeling so fed up. I stared back and him and kept my voice cool and quiet.

“You know what Tennoji? You can just go fuckyourself. When people ignore your lame jokes, that’s a sign that you should. Stop. Talking.”

I quickly picked up my stack of paperwork, avoiding the shocked and hurt look in his eyes, as well as the eyes of all my other coworkers. I knew I shouldn’t have said anything, but I was too angry still to apologize properly.

I dropped the folders on Kirisawa’s desk, bowing low and avoiding his concerned gaze.

“I’m finished for the night so I’m going home now.”

Kirisawa blew a puff of smoke out of his mouth before nodding and waving me out. I quickly made my escape from the office, pressing on my eyes to keep the angry tears away.

The 2nd Unit guys all stared at the closed door that their only female coworker had just raced out of. Tennoji was the most dumbstruck, having been the recipient of her wrath.

Kirisawa let out a long sigh, before turning to the rest of his men.

“I think we’ve all had an especially long day today. Why don’t we all call it a night?”

Everyone nodded a little in agreement before starting to finish up on their work.

Tennoji couldn’t help but mumble a little.

“What the hell just happened..?”

Eiki looked at him and spoke matter-of-factly.

“I think whatever you said upset her for some reason, and you should apologize to her.”

Tennoji looked confused. “But I always tease her, and usually she just goes with it..”

Hanai spoke up next, looking at the red-haired man critically.
