The band of her hair tie snapped, breaking her long locks of hair freely to whip in the air. Marina pushed past the wind at a dangerous speed, her arms withstanding the pressure in the air to grip her swords at the ready.

Her hooks shot out, stabbing into the eyes of the greedily hungry monster. Blood evaporating with steam stained her skin as she glided closer, landing on its head stealthily unhooking the hooks.

Marina ignored the paining in her lungs, neglecting her need to breath as she hopped off the head of the beast and spun around to deeply cut the nape. Her hooks shot elsewhere to ease her landing onto the ground unlike the titan who was viciously smacked by the unwelcoming floor.

Her panting breaths were visible in the air, revealing itself as a small cloud. But there was no breaks for her, she realized this as soon as banging footsteps shook the surface beneath her. Marina turned around swiftly, quickly dodging the arm that attempted to grab her.

The titans arm hit the floor, and she took this chance to jump onto its hand and run up the arm. The other arm of the giant tried to get her but wasn't fast enough to catch up with the level of speed she had reached. She jumped off its shoulder, shooting her hooking into the back of its head and using it to bounce off of and flip backwards. While her body flipped back in the air, she cut the nape during her fall.

As the ground became closer, Marina let out a quiet gasp in response to her gas being out. There wasn't enough time to react as she tumbled down the ground, rolling just out of the way before the dead titan fell right next to her. She stared at the sky for a moment, her exhaustion eating her up.

Marina pushed herself off the ground, and smacked her gear with frustration. I thought I was careful with how much gas I was using! She thought to herself, her eyes drifting to the trail of dead titans left behind her. Oh.

There was no time to stand around, not for her. A 10-meter was running towards her, she was helpless without the gear! Marina sprinted into a small crack between two buildings, one of her arms subconsciously clutching to her side which ached with pain from her fall. The titan leaned down, using its eye to look inside the crack in which Marina stayed safe.

But she wasn't intending to stay hidden for long. She had to devise a plan to get her back out there. Her head looked to the other side of the crack, running to the end to see if there was a way to get on the roof.

With caution, Marina left the small area between two buildings and checked her surroundings to be free of titans. Her eyes paused on a comrade sitting down against the wall, coughing. She approached them, noticing the blood spewing out of their stomach.

The dying soldier looked up at Marina vulnerably, a face of hopelessness.

"I don't wanna die"

Marina pressed her lips together in reaction, eyeing the gear the soldier wore that was slowly staining with blood. The amount of blood loss would guarantee death, and she couldn't help but feel guilt upon the soldier who was slowly dying alone. The suffering had made her consider killing them herself just to end it, but that was something Marina couldn't bring herself to do.

Their eyes blinked slowly, fighting to stay open. Eventually all movement from the soldier stopped completely, indicating the halt in their once beating heart. Marina sighed, and stripped the dead comrade of their gear.

She walked away from the scene with gear that was now usable, already flying into a roof to get sight of all the titans. She scanned the area, stopping at the 10 meter that charged at her.

Without another thought she jumped off the roof, reaching towards the beast without noticing a 5 meter in front of it. The 5 meter raised its arm in attempt to grab Marina, extending its height to match the 10 meter's.

She dodged it, and shot her hooks to another nearby building behind the titan she planned to kill. The wires pulled her with force, giving her only a certain amount of time to kill the titan. When she was close enough, her swords neatly cut into the titans nape. She landed on the roof, seeing that the 5 meter was trying to reach her.

Marina hopped of the roof, hooking her gear somewhere to give her a safe landing. But as she pushed herself off the roof, her ankle twisted weirdly causing her to stumble and swing off the roof with an uncontrolled force. The titan opened its mouth wide as Marina shot right inside as horror struck her.

Before it's mouth could shut she retracted her gear and pushed its teeth open. Marinas heart was racing faster than the usual racing she got during missions. The teeth of the titan painfully dig into the palms of her hands that desperately tried to keep its mouth open. Marina groaned painfully, and turned her head back to see the end of the titans mouth.

Her arms were on fire as they held open the titans mouth for her life. In just a second she jumped back, allowing the mouth to shut. With the luck of her ODM gear, she shot the hooks to the back of the mouth and pushed herself off the back of the titans front teeth. Her arms flew over her head, pointing her swords straight ahead.

This allowed for her body to cut right through the back of the titans neck, coming out of its nape from inside. She smacked into the wall of a building unexpectedly and fell back, hitting
the ground with aggression once again.

My eyes fixed on the sky for the second time. The bright blue sky masking the coolness in the air. It's vibrancy almost mocking me.

I sat up, and pushed myself back to lean against a wall as I bent forward to examine my throbbing ankle. It looked and felt dislocated, but this wasn't a problem for me aside from the bruising. I gripped my ankle, and bit my lip as I yanked it back into place. My breath hitched from the quick sting of pain, but I calmed down and rested against the wall after.

Smaller, human-like footsteps came running in my direction. Oh I really hope I'm not about the get scolded for sitting her and doing nothing!

"Marina!"
