I wrote this earlier than I thought I would. Anyway I will soon have my exams so I don't think I will be able to post the next chapters any sooner , maybe the 3rd chapter I will post in the next 2 days but after that you guys have to wait. After my exams I will post the chapters every alternate day.
Emily's POV:
I finally decided to get ready for college around 6:30 a.m. I dressed in a long-sleeve white crop top with red high-waist jeans and nude heels after showering and brushing my teeth. I went for a natural makeup with some eyeliner and mascara. I put my hair in a tight ponytail.
I went downstairs after getting ready to find my mother and brother already eating breakfast. I sat down beside James, took a slice of bread toast and began eating it when my mom spoke,
“I checked the kitchen today morning only to find out that groceries are still not home.”
I decided to ignore her and continued eating.
“Emily,” She again called out. And I being me ignored her. Now that’s where she lost her temper.
“Emily, when do you plan on bringing the groceries?” she suddenly yelled at me.
“I will get them today after my work, alright?” I yelled back at her. “And I am leaving for college.”
As I was leaving James stopped me, “Emily I gave my car for servicing, so I am coming with you.”
“Ok fine, I will wait in the car come fast.” With that he went back to get his bag while I waited for him in the car.
After a while he came back and sat in the passenger’s seat. I started driving.
“Emily do you think that outburst on mom was necessary?” he said.
“She was the one who started it. I did nothing.” I replied blankly.
"Yea but still you could have answered her politely. After all she is our mom.”
“Honestly James I don’t care. If she wants me to do the work which she should be doing, she is supposed to ask politely and not shout at me. And full stop to this discussion, your school’s here.”
He sighed and got down and as soon as he did that a girl came towards him and started flirting with him, I rolled my eyes at this. I knew that my brother was handsome but I didn’t have to see this so I bid him goodbye and left for my college.
In the college:
“Hey Emily”, Britney and Catherine chorused together. They are my best friends. Britney is funny whereas Catherine is quite smart. They are always supportive to me. I love them so much.
“Hey guys, morning. So what have you two been up to this weekend?” I asked them.
“Oh nothing much other than lazing around” Britney answered, I laughed at this and she continued “But it’s you who is supposed to tell us what happened.”
“Yea, we heard that you broke up with Aaron. Why? We thought you liked him.” Catherine said.
I sighed and said, “Well you see … umm he was cheating on me.”
“I am sorry, WHAT?!?”
“You got to be kidding me.”
“No, I am not. He did cheat on me.”
“With whom?”
“Suzanne. I caught them making out the other day.” I replied with bitterness in my voice.
