Shoulders slumped and heart heavy, Sidney walked the short distance from the tube station on her way from the daily vists of her grandmother.

It had been a whole month and so far, she hadn't been lucky in the job hunt sector.

She sighed deeply as she approached Nelly's house. Her friend and husband had been really welcoming to her and they made her feel more than welcome. But she didn't want to become a permanent bother.

She didn't want to overstay her welcome, she'd been hoping that by the end of the month, she would have already found a job and been able to support herself, thus getting out of their hair.

When she reached the door, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"Maybe tomorrow will be better," she quietly said to herself before she pulled the door open and let herself in.

"Sid!" Nelly's voice was heard from the kitchen area as soon as she closed the door behind her. "I'm so glad you are home!" She continued yelling and even a blind person could clearly see the excitement in her voice.

Sidney couldn't help the smile that graced her own face at the happiness that was radiating from her friend.

She toed off her shoes, hang her coat and allowed Nelly to practically drag her from the entry way into the kitchen.

"Okay. What's going on?" She chuckled.

"Sit sit, I have good news." Nelly cried happily. "Oh wait, did you find a job yet?" He face turned serious for a split second.

"Nothing so far." Sidney sighed defeatedly but Nelly's jovial mood was back on and she was once again a happy soul.

"So I found an advert when I was in the café during my shift, here." She thrust piece of paper in her hands and she looked at it closely she understood why her friend was excited. "The interview is tomorrow."

Sidney scanned the paper again with a smile on her face. "A house help." After she uttered those words she frowned. "Nel, where are the house helps needed?" She asked still trained on the paper.

"Uh some rich person in a mansion out of town I didn't really check but it's a job, love." Her excitement was still sky rocket.

Sidney's eyes finally left the paper and they trained themselves on Nelly. The latter, realized that her friend was probably bothered by something and went into protective mother hen mode.

"What's wrong?" She asked quietly and Sidney just sighed.

"It's Terry Kent's residence." Her voice sounding more defeated than she would have liked.

"Oh my God, Sid. I swear I had no idea," Nelly wrapped her up her arms. "I wouldn't have even considered it if I knew. I mean the person is the reason you lost- god I'm so inconsiderate-" she would have kept on rambling if Sidney hadn't stopped her.

"It's okay, Nel, really. You were trying to help and I appreciate the effort." She tried her best to smile.

The two ladies sat in the kitchen for a few minutes each lost in thought. It was a peaceful silence before Sidney broke it.

"You know what, I think I'll go. I mean keep your friends close and your enemies closer." She suddenly said, brightly.

"That look, what's that look." Nelly asked gesturing at the mischievous look on her friend's face.

"Revenge is gonna be sweet and slow." Sidney said before standing up to go freshen up.

...

Nicholas sighed as he finished reporting to the Personal Assistant of Terry Kent about his day's work.

He had landed a job as an assistant to Mr. Kent's PA, it wasn't exactly what he wanted to do with his life after his father's death and shut down of the bakery but he was working close to him. And that was exactly what he needed; to be able to infiltrate his life and make him pay for what he did.

"Alright thanks a lot, Nick. But you and I have both been requested to go over to the boss' mansion and accompany him to this dinner thing." The woman said.

She was a woman who had a really really big heart and patient personality.

If he had been in her shoes, Nick would have already snapped and done something drastic to the inconsiderate jerk they all called a boss. He was sure of it.

He would have very much liked to whine and throw a tantrum and curse the boss out for keeping them after work hours but atleast the overtime would be added to his pay plus he didn't really know Ms. May, the Assistant to act like that infront of her. So all he did was nod.

"Yeah sure, you'll let me know when we are to leave." He said and walked back to his working desk.

So far, working for Mr. Kent hadn't proved anything worth attacking with. That was because all Nick did was work on tasks that the PA assigned to him. He hadn't been close enough to the boss to know anything other than his name. Not even where he lived, that night was gonna be his first time. But he worried not, he reckoned he had to work his way into the trusted circle first and he was willing to do so.

Before long, it was knocking off time and Nick along with the PA and Mr Kent found themselves in the limo that belonged to the man himself.

Nick sat in the front with the driver. He didn't really know the lad well, all he knew was that his name was Holt, Thomas Holt and he had the most stoic face Nick had ever seen. Well except for the constant anger that was present in his brown eyes at all times.

Nick had tried to strike a conversation but he had stopped it after getting two one word answers.

He closed his eyes and hoped that this whole dinner thing would be over soon.

...

"Fucking arsehole." Tom muttered under his breath.

He had dropped Mr. Kent and his assistants off at the mansion for whatever function that was taking place. But for some reason, he hadn't been allowed to leave until the said function was over.

Thomas Holt had been close to pulling all his hair out when he realized that the only job he had managed to land was a personal driver to the person who put his brother in prison.

But he had no choice, he had to take it if he wanted to survive and not be thrown out on the streets.

Everyday that he drove the arsehole boss around, he was close to driving off a bridge and end his fucking life. He was really considering it. Because really, why would he be able to live normally while Tom's brother was doing time he didn't even deserve?

He saw no reason to work for Terry Kent except the money.

"Fucking Terry arsehole Kent." He said a bit loudly and kicked one of the tires before he went back to leaning against the car.

"Fucking Terry arsehole Kent?"

Tom whipped his head to the side when he heard a second voice ask.

He hardened his face and gritted his teeth ready to tell whoever that was to fuck off but he stopped when he saw a girl with a big smile on her face, he knew she was a worker there because of her uniform.

"Same really. Your thoughts?" She said and cocked her head to the side. "He's an arsehole."

Now Tom's interest was piqued. She seemed interesting if she could right out say that infront of him, who was a stranger to her.

"Name's Thomas." He stretched out his hand for a handshake. "But you can call me Tom."

"Sidney." She smiled. "Call me Sid."
