Chapter Seven:
Blaze and Fallen were the first ones up. They had been up for a little while and were waiting for the rest of the group to wake up.
Fallen and Blaze looked up when they heard a quiet yawn. Star’s little yawn, that was.
She stood carefully and walked over Ray and Mikey, walking around Gerard, and over to the twins. Blaze and Fallen loved kids, especially this little one.
“Good morning,” Star greeted the twins, a smile on her angel like face.
“Good morning, Star. Do you think we should wake everyone up?” Fallen asked, taking a glance at the sleeping bodies.
“I’ll take care of that,” Star smiled once more and turned, staring at the group.
“WAKE UP!” She shrieked. Frank, Mikey, Ray, and Gerard jumped up, now standing. They woke up alright.
“What’s wrong?!” Mikey yelled, looking around frantically.
“Nothing, it was just time to get up.” Star said innocently. Frank and Ray rolled their eyes, and sat back down. Gerard and Mikey just laughed quietly to themselves and took a seat next to Frank and Ray.
“So, Blaze, are you ready to build us a shelter?” Gerard turned his head, and looked over at her.
She nodded her head with a smile and stood, walking over to the huge tree.
She concentrated on it. The bark of the tree began to peel back, revealing the wood underneath. Once all the bark was off, she started using her hands to guide where she wanted it to be cut and to end.
Soon enough, the shelter started taking shape of a rectangle. It was large, big enough to fit the 7 of them. There was a place for them to sleep, and a place for them to hang out, kind of like a living room.
She had the structure of the shelter built and as now putting on the roof with the remaining bark of the trunk. She was surprisingly not tired yet, after hours of hard work and concentration. She had no clue it was because of the blue liquid that was injected into her system. But then the downside came soon after she had put the last piece of bark on the roof and refocused on the group.
“Blaze… that’s amazing!” Gerard spoke first when she took a step back and let them look at it.
“Let’s go check it out!” Mikey excitedly said, jumping up and opening the door to the shelter house. All of them, including Blaze, walked inside and looked around, completely amazed by how detailed the walls and doorways were.
Blaze had now begun feeling the effects of this hard work. She felt drained, and slightly sick. It was almost time for another injection.
Blaze stayed in the living part of the shelter while the others roamed around. She took a seat on the wood floor, and waited for the others.
While the others were still looking around, Blaze dozed off, exhausted from the work she was doing. While she slept peacefully up against the wood wall, she had another vision.
It was just her and Mikey again, from the time before. The last vision she had when he was killed. It was restarting. The drac coming up behind him, him pulling out his ray gun. The whole nine yards. But this time, it changed. This time Mikey killed the draculoid, without him being killed in the process.
Blaze stood and watched silently. She couldn’t bring herself to jump for joy just yet. More Dracs were coming their way, and Korse was behind them.
“Mikey! Watch out!” She shouted when he turned to look at her. He quickly refocused again, and shot the remaining dracs.
Korse, however, was not the easiest one to kill. He was too powerful, and took a long time. But Mikey defeated him. Blaze couldn’t believe it. He had killed Korse.
When she knew it was safe and okay, she ran to Mikey, tackling him in a hug. He held her close and pulled back to look at her, their lips inches apart. They both seemed to get the same idea at the same time.
They leaned closer to each other, but the vision suddenly ended as Blaze was jolted upright by a loud boom. It was just a vision, a dream. Blaze felt destroyed, and hurt. She actually wanted this to happen.
“What the heck was that?!” She shouted.
“Nothing you need to worry about. Star found a bomb outside in the sand.” Fallen said as she sat down next to her sister.
“Oh, I guess one of them set it off by accident?” Blaze mumbled, still somewhat asleep.
“Nope, Gerard said that we should probably set it off so no one would get hurt or whatever,” Fallen explained, yawning afterwards.
It had gone night time at the base shelter. Everyone was beginning to get sleepy, where as Blaze was wide awake now. She had gotten her rest while the others were off doing whatever.
“I guess I’ll stay on night watch. I’m wide awake now.” Blaze said as she stretched and yawned once more.
“'Kay. Well, good night.” Fallen yawned again and laid her head against her sister’s shoulder, and fell asleep peacefully.
Blaze smiled to herself at this. They would always fall asleep on each other when they were younger, and it brought back memories.
Blaze turned her head as the door swung open. Gerard, Frank, Mikey, Star, and Ray all walked in, barely moving. They were exhausted, and went right to bed. They didn’t even see, nor say good night to Blaze.
Blaze didn’t mind though; she knew how tired they were, especially for Gerard and Star. Gerard did so much. Star was just keeping everyone in a happy mood the best she could, and it had worked for a long time now.
Blazed leaned back against the wood again and settled in for the night.
She sat there, with Fallen asleep on her shoulder, for hours upon hours until the sun shined through the cracks of the wood in then shelter.
