Chapter Eight:

Blaze waited a bit longer and then shook Fallen off her shoulder, making her fall on the ground and wake up angry.

“What the heck was that for?!” She shouted, annoyed with her sister already.

“It was time for you to get up…” Blaze smiled innocently.

“A simple, ‘Fallen, wake up!’ would have worked, you know?!” Fallen sneered at her.

“Oh, I know.” Blaze smirked and stood up. She felt light-headed all of a sudden.

“You okay?” Fallen asked, suddenly out of her angry phase.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine, just stood up too fast, I guess.” Blaze mumbled.

Fallen nodded her head, though she wasn’t convinced. She let it go, and didn’t pry her anymore.

“Let’s go wake up the others,” Fallen said and started off toward the bedroom part of the shelter.

Blaze traveled behind her, feeling odd and out of the ordinary. She just kept to herself, and said nothing.

“Wake up people!” Fallen shouted and started banging on the side of the room.

Star was the first one awake. Frank and Ray soon followed, Gerard behind him and Mikey last.

They all stretched, yawned, and then stood. They all walked out of the bedroom and back into the living room part.

“Well, what are we doing today?” Mikey asked Gerard as he took a seat next to Blaze.

Blaze’s face broke out into a smile at this. Mikey was smiling as well. The others didn’t seem to notice this.

“I honestly have no clue. We could just hang around here for the day, maybe think up a game or something.” He said a couple minutes later.

“Shouldn’t we be getting closer to Battery City, though?” Fallen wondered, confused.

“Not if we don’t have to.” Frank explained this time.

Fallen just nodded and walked off. Star followed her. Gerard, Frank, and Ray walked off into the bedroom again, probably going back to sleep.

Blaze and Mikey were still sitting in the living room. Alone, and with nothing to do.

Blaze thought about the past couple of dreams, well visions, she’s had. Should she tell someone? Should she tell Mikey since he’s the one who’s in them mostly? Would he understand, or think she was a freak?

Blazed let out an angered sigh and turned to look at Mikey. Someone had to know… just in case.

“Mikey, if I tell you something, would you think I’m lying? Would you think I’m a freak?” Blaze asked him in a hurry.

“I highly doubt you are lying, and I never think of you as a freak,” He said, then realized what he said soon after. He just admitted something.

“You think about me?” Blaze asked him, softly, smiling again.

“Err…” Mikey was stunned, shocked to the point where he couldn’t even answer.

Blaze giggled, and went onto the different topic, not prying him to tell or anything.

“So, you wouldn’t think of me as a freak?” Blaze asked again, wanting to make sure.

“Nope, not a freak at all. Why? What’s wrong?” Mikey asked, suddenly worried as to what she had to say.

“Well, for the past couple times I’ve been ‘asleep’ I’ve had like these… these visions.” Blaze spoke slowly, carefully.

“About what?” Mikey asked, seeming interested.

“Mostly about you. You either getting killed, or you fighting off more Draculoids. It’s always you and me in the visions. No one else.” Blaze said this part in a whisper. She was slightly embarrassed.

Mikey didn’t know what to think about this. He was just confused. Nothing was wrong, but he was just confused.

“Mikey?” Blaze said after a few minutes of silence. She was now preparing for the worse.

“Vision of me? No one else?” He repeated.

“Yes, just you. Why is that?” Blaze asked, wonder filling her voice.

“I don’t know. You’re the one with the vision,” Mikey said in a ‘duh’ voice. It made Blaze smile.

“So you don’t care? You don’t think it’s freaky?” She asked, hopefully.

“I don’t care. And the vision part is freaky, but you aren’t freaky.” Mikey stated. He chose his words very carefully.

“Thank you… for understanding and all that. I don’t think anyone else would. Maybe Fallen, but I just didn’t feel right telling her, ya know?” Blaze sighed after this. She knew she’d have to tell Fallen at some point.

“I understand.” He smiled at her.

They continued to mingle for a couple hours afterwards, and bonded even more.

Meanwhile, Fallen and Star were talking as well. Gerard, Frank, and Ray were fast asleep again.

“Fallen?” Star’s voice was unsure, and hesitant.

“Yeah? What’s wrong?” She looked down at her.

“I just have this feeling we’re being watched. It’s creeping me out.” Star shuddered and scooted closer to Fallen.

“Being watched by who?” Fallen asked, suddenly worried. It could be draculoids again.

“I don’t know, I just have the feeling that we are being watched.” Star shrugged.

“Oh, well, do you think we should tell Gerard?” Fallen started getting up, but Star tugged on her shirt to keep her sitting.

“No, it would only worry him even more. He has a lot on his plate right now…” Star trailed off, and sighed.

“Oh, right. Well, if the feeling gets worse, just tell me or Frank, okay?” Fallen looked down at her again. Star just nodded, and sighed again.

The two continued to talk to each other, just to be doing something. Blaze and Mikey were still chatting. Gerard, Frank, and Ray were still asleep, but wouldn’t be for long.

As all this was going on, two dracs were making their way to the new shelter to get Blaze. It was time for another injection.
