Chapter Nine:

It soon fell to nighttime outside. All the Killjoys, except for Blaze, had gone to bed again. Blaze was feeling worse, and just couldn’t get to sleep.

Blaze made her way outside, carefully. She was feeling dizzy, and kept running into things. She thought that maybe some fresh air would help, but it didn’t. It just made it worse, actually.

She just couldn’t take it anymore, and plopped down into the sand, about 50 feet from the shelter. She laid back, and shut her eyes, hoping to feel better if she just tried to get some sleep, an hour at least.

She soon drifted off, just as the two dracs came into view. They were, well shocked, to see that she was actually alone. They were glad though, they didn’t have to put up a fight to get her. They’d just simply drug her with a sedative, haul her back to Korse, wait for her to wake up and then proceed with the injection.

And so they did just as they thought about doing. Since she was asleep, she barely felt the needle slipping into her skin. She fell into a deep slumber as the drug took effect. The two dracs picked her up and started heading back to Korse.

No one knew that Blaze was gone. Why would they? They were asleep, they have no clue.

The dracs got back to the building quickly, considering the fact that Korse was eager to see how Blaze, well Heather, was doing.

“Boss?” One of the Dracs called throughout the hallway. His terrible figure turned the corner, an evil smile on his face. He carried a needle in his pocket. The blue liquid was filled inside it.

“Ah, nice timing. You two have done well,” He praised the dracs with a broad smile.

“Thank you, Master.” The dracs said as they set Blaze down on the steel table, strapping her down so when she awoke, she wouldn’t be able to go anywhere.

Blaze then started waking up then. Her vision slowly adjusted. When she saw where she was, she cowered back against the table the best she could. She normally wasn’t like this, but since she was so weak, it scared her this time.

“Hello sleepy head,” Korse spoke happily, but it still was evil.

Blaze said nothing. She was terrified. She then had an idea.

‘Mikey?! Please tell me you can hear me! If so, WAKE UP! Korse has me!’ She hurriedly thought to him.

He got it alright, and sat up with a gasp, waking up the others.

“Mikey? What’s wrong?” Gerard asked, not liking seeing his brother so... angry and worried.

“Blaze is in trouble. Bad trouble.” His voice was panicked, and quick.

“How do you know?” Fallen asked, suddenly very awake and listening carefully.

“I just got this thought… Like she was thinking things to me. It was weird.” Mikey mumbled, slightly annoyed.

“Err… okay. Where is she?” Gerard asked.

“Korse has her. That’s what she thought.” Mikey said as he stood up.

“Where are you going?!” Gerard asked, well demanded. He hopped up too, as well as everyone else.

“To go find her! Duh!” Mikey shot him a glare and started walking out of the shelter house. The others quickly caught up to him.

“Well, now we have something to do.” Star sighed at this. She didn’t like having to go to back to Battery City. She hated it there.

“Aww, come on now Star. It’ll be fun!” Frank scooped her up into his arms and threw her over his shoulder.

Star giggled and poked him in his back, making him chuckle. He was somewhat ticklish.

Gerard and the others thought about what Frank said. Would it be fun? No. It was simple. It wouldn’t be fun. He was just trying to make Star happy. And it seemed to be working for now.

Meanwhile, back at the BL/ind Building, Korse was preparing to inject more liquid into Blaze’s system.

“Pl-please don’t.” She begged him, feeling tears forming in her eyes. She hated this.

“I’m sorry, dear, I have to.” He tried sounding sympathetic, but it came out harsh.

He stuck the needle under her skin as she let out a quiet cry. She turned her head away as he pushed the blue liquid in. A few seconds later, Korse removed the needle. The blue liquid was gone.

Blaze started feeling better almost instantly, but then came the unconsciousness again.

“Do we take her back?” One of the dracs asked his Master.

“Hmm… no. Not this time. If she’s with Party Poison’s group like we discussed, it could mean that her absent will bring him and the rest of the Killjoys here.” Korse said after a while of thinking.

“Yes sir,” The two dracs said in unison. They turned on their heels and walked out of the room.

Korse followed them silently, letting Blaze stay where she was while her body adjusted to the shot again.

Mikey suddenly felt tired, like he would pass out as well. He slowed down, trailing behind everyone now. Fallen looked over her shoulder, seeing this. Her eye brows came together, in confusion. None of the others noticed this, just Fallen. She kept her mouth shut and let him be.

Hours passed by, but it felt like minutes to the Killjoys. They had walked about 5 miles, and were closer to the BL/ind building. Mikey’s feeling of passing out had passed, and he was back at the front of the group, leading them, feeling like he had to. Gerard didn’t mind, he actually liked someone else taking the lead for now. They continued walking.

Blaze had waken by now, and was just laying there on the table. She had tried to escape the restraints, but they were too tight. She gave up after a while. She wished someone would save her. Someone being Mikey, though she didn’t want to admit it yet.

Her thoughts were cut off by Korse walking into the room. Two dracs, different ones, followed him.

“Well. I’m afraid you aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.” Korse spoke these words with pride, and not so much venom as usual.

Blaze gulped, suddenly scared again. The two dracs walked into the room, and undid the restraints, but kept a tight grip on Blaze’s shoulders. They walked behind Korse.

Korse turned the corner, and Blaze made her move. She threw fire balls at the two dracs, sending them flying. She made a run for it down the hallway. She almost got away, but soon came to a halt as she met Korse’s ugly face when turning a different corner.

He thought she would try to get away, and he had this planned. Even the two dracs had this planned.

Blaze gulped again and started backing away as he approached her. She was caught by another drac, and with another needle. Pure sedative this time. Within seconds, she was out like a light and being hauled away by the draculoid. Korse knew she would be a hand full. And she definitely was.

The drac moved her into another room while she was sleeping again. This time, there was no table for her to be on, so he just laid her on the ground. He then walked off, and left her be the rest of the night.

Things were going to get good, and bad now.
