From the corner of her eye, Kate could see a figure that flickered in and out of existenc. Not fully there but not fully gone.

Kate sometimes wishes she could drown herself in drugs like Chess did. It would make her feel happier, right?

Four months later, Kate finds herself at Riley's doorstep for the second sleepover. She didn't want to go.

But she needed to get Mattie out of prison.
