I ran, I don't know where or how far, but I ran. Faster and faster I went, til my insides burned and my legs felt like they would break, but still I ran. When I finally came at an end I was at a highway bridge my father used to take me to as a kid. It was a long drop with a hard bottom. It was perfect. I knew somewhere inside I didn't really want to do this, but Teagan's words rung loudly in my ears, and all I wanted was for it all to end. So slowly as to not to spook myself, I climbed onto the railing. Just as I was about to fall over a pair of arms encircled me, pulling me back over the railing and onto the ground.

"What the fuck?" I cried. "Why'd you do that?" I hid my face in my knees.

"I saved you from making the worst mistake of your life. Why were you going to jump?" a deep voice asked.

"You wouldn't understand." I said still not looking at the what I now knew to be boy. I heard the scraping of fabric, and felt a gentle hand on my arm.

"Try me." He whispered. I explained everything.
"That's no reason to end your life, Laney." The boy shook his head.

"Don't you dare sit there and judge me! You don't even know me, and I told you that you wouldn't have understood." I looked away from the scaringly handsome boy that sat inches away from me. "What's your name anyway? I mean you know mine....wait how do you know mine?" I shrug casually.

"Daniel Radcliffe."

"Liar. That's the actor who plays Harry Potter."

"Fine Matt Smith."

"Wrong again. He's the Doctor."

"Bruce Wayne." I rolled my eyes.

"You've got to be kidding me? I'm wearing a fucking batman shirt!"

"How do I know you're not some hipster wannabe?" we laugh. "OK OK. My name's Malcolm Winchester. No joke this time." He stands up and offers me his hand.

"How do I know you aren't some murderer?" He shrugs and grins.

"Well let's put it this way, why would it matter if I were or not? You were just about to kill yourself in the first place." I smile.

"Nice point." I take his hand as he pulls me up. "Why did you pull me off the ledge anyway? You don't know me....and you never answered my question, how do you know you my name?" He doesn't let go of my hand until he gets me safely into his truck.

"Let's just say that I'm your Guardian Angel." He took me back to his truck.
