𝖽𝖾𝖺𝗍𝗁, 𝗆𝗒 𝖿𝗋𝗂𝖾𝗇𝖽 𝗈𝗋 𝖿𝗈𝖾?

2009

Death can be a tragedy or beautiful. It is unpredictable yet inevitable. An epilogue for each life.

You never know when it will be knocking on your door, ready to take you away. There is no fixed expiry date for life. Hence why it is a hidden fear amongst us. A conscience on the back of our minds which we most likely forget because we live and enjoy in the present to the fullest and cherish it.

We exist one moment only to leave the world in the next.

Evelyn Gilbert was death's chosen victim.

Her lifeless body laying on the hospital bed, skin so cold, simply lacking the usual pink in her cheeks and her hair slightly damp showing the evidence of the tragic drowning her and her family experienced, and the only sound in this dull room were the cries of her family, shocked from the news they were told.

Elena and Jeremy Gilbert had not only lost their parents that night but their sister.

She was gone.

The world hadn't been kind to her.

But if one had taken a look at the girl they would say she was sleeping peacefully, as though she had accepted her fate.

A tear stained Jeremy saw his sister's lifeless form, leaving him as he then glanced over to his aunt. "Jenna," a sob had escaped from his lips. "I lost her too."

Jenna couldn't control the tears herself, crying out loud as she pulled her nephew into a hug and he held on to her tightly.

Both now were sitting in the room where the unconscious Elena was laying in her bed as they waited for her to wake up, to tell her the tragic news about her parents and twin sister.

But death suddenly changed it's mind. It had been lenient and decided to let Evelyn go.

For now, maybe.

She miraculously survived that night.

Fate had other plans for her.

The room was cold. Quiet. She was all alone. Tubes attached to her that were yet to be taken off her lifeless body but not a small sound came from the machines or herself. No heartbeat. No breathing.

And there it was. The gift from nature had finally arrived, granting her an extraordinary ability.

A radiant glow began forming on the tips of her fingers, slowly making it's way up to her arms, like a flame had lit up from a matchstick, illuminating in her veins and all it took was one switch to wake her up.

Blurred images that her barely conscious mind could make out had flashed through her eyes and strange voices played in her ear.

Several figures surrounded by a fire, chanting an incantation.

A dark silhouette looming right in front of her eyes.

A loud scream, the echoes pleading for help.

A voice began to call out to her now, ever so gentle and soft.

Evelyn gasped for air, returning back to reality, her eyes wide open but nothing was of ordinary now. Glowing purple with golden flecks swirling in them that held something everyone would be envious of.

A unique power which would either terrify the supernatural or worship her existence.

A friend to some.
   A foe to others.
   A lover to one.

Reborn as her true self she was always destined to be.

Unclenching her fists, which were laying besides her on the bed, a small sob released from her lips, her chest feeling too tightened, suffocated from this unknown pain that was inflicting and marking it's scars on her.

And so it began, a game she had no choice but to participate in.

She needed to win this time.

But was this innocent soul capable of surviving in this cruel world that was forced upon her?

I hate wattpad so much. They're so racist and hates me so I rewrote it again with new details along with a few hidden messages for the main plot of this book to make it more sense.

I have missed writing about our favourite girl so much. I'm mostly glad and thankful to the rr's that have stayed to read Evelyn's story again and hopefully you love this version as much as the other ones. (Comment a hi, if you're a rr)

Are you all ready for Klevelyn and the rollercoaster of many emotions they're about to go through?

I will update tomorrow hopefully!
