56. Pain of Betrayal

My head ached when i began to gain consciousness again. Wherever i was, i wasn't comfortable but i couldn't find the strength to open my eyes just yet.

They felt too heavy and it was exhausting. All i could do was groan from the aching feeling in my body.

I was very afraid to find out where i was.
I tried to open my eyes only to cringe when harsh lights fell upon my face. I tried to move my hands to cover my eyes only to gasp when i noticed my hands and legs were tied to a wooden chair.

When i finally managed to open my eyes properly i found myself in a unfamiliar room.

I looked around the room and found the room was dirty. I remembered that few people kidnapped from the parking lot of the mall. I don't know who are those people but soon i will find it out.

I just hope Evelyn is fine. As if god heard my prayer the door was pushed open and a black figure walked in. I couldn't see anything properly because of less lighting here. When the figure walked towards and i gasped in shock when i realized who she is.

What the hell is she doing here?? And most importantly why did she kidnapped me?? Scarlett Greene the youngest daughter of the Greene family is behind my kidnapping.

As much as i know i never offended her so badly that she will kidnap me. We both don't like each other and that's ok.
"Look who is here, the great Athena Paulsen " she said and took a chair to sit infront of me.

"What do you want?" I asked.
"Do you really think that i am the one who actually kidnapped you?" She asks. I know that she is not the mastermind behind it. I looked around the room and found 3 bodyguards present. I can take them down easily but i don't know how many are present outside this room. I need to wait for the right time.

"You think that i will get any profit by killing you" she said with a smirk. So her end game is to kill me.
"Then why're you doing all this?" I asked.
"I working on someone else instructions " she replied.
"What do you think about Knight will they hurt you?" She asks. It means the person behind my kidnapping is a Knight. The only person offended till now is Mrs. Knight but why would she kill me.

"Is it Mrs. Knight?" I asked. She laughed at my words and said
"Lets play a game, i will give you two hints and you have to guess?"
"Ok first off the person is 'He' and he is someone who loves you and hates you both " she said.

I looked at confusedly. There is only one person but he would never do this with me. He can't fall so low. He loves me a lot.

"I really don't know what are you talking about?" I said.
"You think Andrew can't hurt you" she said. My eyes darkened with anger.
"You really think i will trust you. Andrew will never hurt me like this" i said.
"Ok if you don't want to trust me then it's ok, bye " she said and signaled one of the man to deal with me. I need to buy sometime.

"Wait!!!" I shouted. She turned around and looked at me
"If you can prove me that Andrew is behind all this then i might trust you" she thought for few minutes and then sat down on the chair.
"Since you're going to die then i will fulfill your last wish to know who actually wants you dead" she said and pulled out her phone. She dialed some numbers and was shocked when i realized whose number she's dialing.

Is it true?? No this can't happen.

She was dialing Andrew's personal phone number. There are only few people who knows about this number. If scarlett knows his number it means he personally gave his number.

She kept the phone on loudspeakers and soon someone picked the call.
"Hello" a heard a manly voice. I am not sure whether it's Andrew or not the voice but i know that he ison the call. Because this is his personal phone and he always keeps it with him. He doesn't let anyone touch it.

"Andrew i have kidnapped her successfully " Scarlett said.
"Then what are you waiting for kill her and get the hell out of there" he said.

Tears burned at the back of my eyes, threatening to fall as i clenched my fist tighter. I won't cry.

"Are you sure you want her dead?" She asks
"Of course yes, she is the biggest thorn in my life. If she doesn't die then life will be hell. On secondly i want to take over the Paulsen group. Everyone knows that Athena is very important for Paulsen family. If she dies then everyone will breakdown and at that time i will strike
Just complete your work without creating any trouble" he said and then hung up.

By now the tears are freely flowing down my eyes. I didn't even tried to stop them. Everything makes sense. Scarlett will never try to kidnap without anybody's help. Not just anyone but someone who has a lot of power. Today i felt the real pain of betrayal.

Andrew how can he do this with me. The person for whom i can give my life will be the reason for my death.

"So now you trust " Scarlett said but i didn't replied her. And then allof sudden the door was pushed open and i can hear few footsteps. I heard Scarlett shouting
"How the hell did you entered?"

I looked at the entrance of the door and from my blurry vision i can see my brother. He came to save me but he doesn't know that I'm already dead from inside.
"Don't you dare come near or else i will kill your sister " she said and she was pointing a gun at me. Her hand was shaking. She looks very scared. Maybe this is her first time to hold gun.

"Scarlett don't be stupid and leave the gun" Ashton shouted. But she shook her head in no. I can hear both of them arguing. But i really didn't cared about it.

Then i heard a sound 'BANG '. Everything went silent. There was a pin drop silence in the room. The gun fell from Scarlett's hand and fell on ground with a thud.

I felt some kind of burning in my chest and when i looked down i found my top soaked with my blood. Ashy ran towards and quickly untied me.
"Athena don't worry everything will be fine. I won't let anything happen to you....please don't close your eyes" he said and picked me up in his arms.

Why??? Why you did this with me Andrew?? Was my love not enough for you?? Was i not enough for you?? Why did you betrayed me in such a cruel way. What was my mistake?? Was my unconditionally love for you is my punishment. I hate you!! I fucking hate you Andrew Knight. Those were the thoughts running in my mind before darkness ruthlessly consumes me......
