Chapter Ten:

The next morning soon came. The sunlight was shining in through the windows at the BL/ind building, sending Blaze into consciousness. She sighed, knowing she was still at the cursed place and probably wasn’t getting out anytime soon.

She then thought about last night’s events. She began to wonder if her thoughts had gotten through to Mikey, and if they were on their way to save her. She hoped they were, because if not, she probably wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon.

Her thoughts drifted to random things almost instantly. Like if she was going to get out, what was the weather outside like, and most importantly, if she would be saved alive.

Blaze had only been in the building for about a day, and was already tired of it. She wished she could just go home, back in the past, actually. But she wanted Mikey and the rest of the Killjoys to come with her.

Blaze sighed as she started pacing the room, back and forth. She counted her steps, and stopped somewhere along the 500 range. She had so much energy from the injection, she just needed to be out and about, at least take a run or something around the building with dracs watching over her.

Blaze then had an idea. She needed to talk to Korse. But how would she get his attention?

Her eyes perked up as she saw a drac walking down the hallway. There were steel bars on the door, and it was left open. She slithered her hand through two of the bars as her palm started glowing again.

A small fireball started growing, and hovering above her hand. She flicked it at the drac’s head. It hit him alright, and sent him flying. Blaze laughed to herself as she thought about Dracs not liking fire. He skidded across the ground, landing with an “Oof!”. This made Blaze laugh all over again.

She shut up quickly as Korse’s angry figured stalked down the hallway, and over to the door.

“Why did you do that?” Korse spat at Blaze, venom filling each words.

“I didn’t know how to get your attention. I took the opportunity to try to get you come and talk to me. It worked well, I see.” Blaze smirked as she looked up at the man.

“Obviously. Now, what do you want?” Korse muttered, annoyed with talking. He was more of a man of action. If you even call him a man, that is.

“Well, since you’re like holding me captive, I want to make a deal with you that will keep me here.” Blaze glanced up at the bald dude again.

“And the deal is?” Korse arched one of his ugly eyebrows.

“You can’t keep a teenage girl held up in one room without room to move. So, I was thinking, if you let me roam the building, of course with whoever you want watching me, I’ll stay here without complaint. I just need to get around with all this energy now.” Blaze turned serious, in the deal making mode. She always got her way with her deals.

Korse thought it over, and then after a few minutes, started speaking again.

“I don’t see a problem with that. But, you must not hurt anyone. Or kill anyone, even if they do something to you, got it? I’ll give you your own key to get back into your room when you want to.” Korse said, eying her carefully.

“Sure. That’s fine. But I will need a place to practice. Somewhere outside, maybe?” Blaze asked. She just wanted to get a deal with going outside.

“I guess so. But when you go out, come tell us first so we can keep an eye on you as well.” Korse mumbled, not liking this one.

But if it meant keeping her there without hassle, he’d do it. And so he was.

Blaze was happy about this deal. She’d actually be able to go outside and move around other than being held up in a tiny room. Korse walked off, but soon came back with two dracs behind him, and a key hanging from a string.

Blaze’s face contorted into a broad smile. She would get her freedom after all. She stepped back a bit as Korse opened and unlocked the door. It hit the wall with a soft thud.

“Alright, come on. I have things to do.” Korse mumbled, stuffing the key into her hand. He turned and stalked off, leaving the two dracs with Blaze and her freedom.

Blaze watched them carefully as she stepped out of the room and into the hallway. The dracs made no move to stop her. She liked that.

She stepped further out, and then started walking, hearing her own footsteps and the dracs’ behind her. She walked a bit, and then froze, turning to glare at the dracs.

“I need names for you two if you both are the ones who will be watching me.” She said and looked at the one on the right. “I’ll name you… Stupid One. And you will be Stupid Two. Good enough?” She smirked, trying not to laugh.

Stupid One and Stupid Two just nodded, saying nothing. Blaze smiled, turned on her heel, and took off running. She wasn’t escaping, just going for a run. The dracs followed her as she turned all the corners.

She soon became tired, and worn out. She leaned against a wall down one of the hallways, and shut her eyes for a split second, opening them the next.

She thought to herself about how she’d had enough freedom for one day and decided it was time for a nap, or to go to bed for real. It all depended on what time of the day it was. She had no clue, though how could she? There weren’t really any windows in the building to check to see if it was daytime or nighttime.

She sighed quietly and straightened up, and started heading back toward her assigned room. As she walked, she sent another message to Mikey, hoping he would get this one as well.

‘Don’t worry about me, Mikey. I’m fine, not hurt. Korse is actually letting me roam around the building. Though he doesn’t know I’m trying to find a place to escape from one day, and trying to figure out how you can come get me if I fail at my escape plan.’ Blaze thought this to him, a small smile on her face as she did so. She couldn’t help but smile whenever she thought of him.

Once she ended the thought, she sighed and walked into her assigned room, leaning against the wall. Her eyes were heavy, and forcing themselves to stay shut every time she blinked. She sunk down onto the ground, and let her eyes stay shut this time, somehow getting comfortable against the hard, cold floor of the cell.

For once, she slept soundly, still the small smile planted on her faded pink colored lips. She didn’t have anything to really stress over, except the fact she needed to get back where she belonged, with the Killjoys, but that thought was way in the back of her mind.
