Night's frost and gloom split into layers of light and clouds and darkness, warmed by rays of fire tumbling, radiating, spinning—targeting earth with sunbeams. Ground was ruptured, hearts were opened, and creation was changed. It is the time when the day casts away the cloak of night. The lovers of morning walk stop on their way to look at the sunrise. The sun slowly rose, it's golden hues falling onto the city, spreading warmth. The birds began chirping and people started waking up. The streets, once again, were filled with people. Shops started opening, cars were behind each other, people were rushing to start their day.

He quietly sipped his coffee, watching the bustling city. He felt a movement behind him and craned his neck to find where the sound came from. His eyes softened on who he saw behind him. He gave a warm smile and extended his hand towards her. She softly placed her hand in his and sat next to him, watching the busy city.

He brought his cup of coffee to her lips and she drank a sip of it. She wrapped her arm around his and rested her head on his shoulder. He placed a small kiss in her hair and placed his head on hers. They both remained quietly seated for a long, peaceful time.

They stood up slowly and started walking into their house, hand in hand. She went behind his back and covered his eyes with her hands.

"Shhh," she whispered in his ear. "I have a surprise for you."

A small chuckle escaped through him. "Really?!" he asked excitedly.

"Mhmm. Just wait and close your eyes. I will be back in a minute," with that, she quickly ran into another room. He patiently waited for her to come back. He wondered what it was, but since it was coming from her, it would be something special. He felt her come back to him as her fragrance surrounded him once again.

"Give me your hand, I will take you there," she told him. Together, they walked into the room.

She tiptoed to her cheek and gave a small, feathery kiss. "You can open your eyes now," she said softly. He slowly opened his eyes and blinked a few times, adjusting his sight.

The entire room was covered with fairy lights and plant veins. There was a big fluffy carpet on the ground and a small tent in the corner of the room. The bed was covered with pillows and flowers. Small candles were lit and surrounded the room. In front of the tent, there was a small table which had wine glasses and some of his favorite food. The TV was playing romantic music and she stood in the middle of the room, excitement rushing through her. He felt his lips curve into a smile.

He slowly walked up to her and cupped her face and kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes and whispered, "Happy One-Year Anniversary Kartik." She leaned onto him and latched her lips on his. He closed his eyes, sinking in the familiar touch of her lips. He wrapped his hands around her waist and she pulled him closer by attaching her arms around his neck. She bought him down to the bed and put her legs on his sides, straddling him and deepening the kiss. He drew small circles on her waist with his thumb, pulling her closer. She kissed him like she wanted to be kissed, like no boy had ever kissed her before, soft and moist and hot and breathy, wanting union and proximity and the sharing of one breath, one sensation, one timeless and passionate instant. As her tongue met his, the heat grew in her cheeks, rapid and electric and wonderful at first, then firmer, more determined, more interested about the heat that lay within, eager to track down that elusive liquid lightning that passed through both of them. It feels like soft rain on a summer evening. It feels like an explosion of the best flavors in the universe all at once mingling together and creating the best taste and sensation you've ever felt. She felt butterflies in her stomach when she heard him groan between the kisses.

They slowly broke the kiss, still taking in the taste of their kiss. They put their forehead against each other, panting.

"I love you," they both said simultaneously.
