I enter my small light gray and green shop early, the sun slowly beginning to arise as I flip the closed sign over as I flick the lights on. It reveals the rows of flowers and small trees and cacti I sell, all in pristine condition as I go behind the counter and put my bag down. My long, spruce brown hair moves into my face as I grab a watering can and begin to carefully water each plant as I found myself lightly humming, I soon hear the door open and I turn and see my best friend; Stephanie Fawn standing there with her soon to be husband, Willen Smith.

"Heyy '' Stephanie says as she comes up and hugs me tightly, stepping back afterwards, "sooo as you know, we are getting married in like a week, and well we completely forgot about the flowers and arrangements, so could you do that? Pleaseee?" she clasps her hands together, in front of her as she pleas.

I laughed slightly as I put the watering can down and held my hand out, "Yeah I can do that."

"Oh my fucking god thank you Lilac!" she instantly is relieved as she takes my hand and we shake on it.

She tells me the colors she would like and the flowers she and her husband both were thinking of as they then pay for them and smile as they walk out. I waved to them as they left as I looked at the paper of their order. 900 flowers, white roses, lavender, and then the flower they had me choose as a complement; a soft white baby breath plant, I put in an order for the delivery. It will be here in 5 days. I sighed in relief as I then finished watering the plants and helped the occasional customers with the things they wanted.

Sunset arrives as I close up shop, grab my bag and walk home. I lived in a small studio apartment, I used to live in a regular house with my ex, but he ended up finding someone else he thought was better. I get to my door as I grab my keys and open the door, walk inside briskfully as I then relock the door. I turned the lights on and my partially painted apartment seemed to glow softly as I hung my bag up. I walk to the kitchen as I begin to prepare to cook a burger, it's been a few months since I last had one.

As I finished eating, I noticed the time and I realized how late it had gotten. I pick up my plate as I go to the sink and work on the few dishes in it.

I lay in bed most of the night awake, this was a common occurrence, my anxiety causes me to stay awake every night basically, I maybe sleep once or twice a week. Properly at least. It had gotten worse since my ex had left. But it's just something I'll have to figure out.

Sunrise arrives as I repeat my regular work routine. I watered the plants, opened the store, helped customers, cleaned, managed bills, etc. Nothing seems to ever happen around her, not that I knew of at least.

The day the flowers all arrived was a busy day, I had to get them watered, trimmed, dethorn the roses, and make the arrangements for the bouquets, table decor, and the overall room decorations. I had a bag of thorns in hand as I took them out to the trash bins to toss away so they didn't go everywhere and possibly hurt someone.

Maybe it was at that moment where I recognised him...that man, he looked about 25 but I was just guessing, he had long black hair that was mainly on one side of his head but it was almost like a lion's mane, but smoother. He had a soft smile and matching eyes. He visited my shop last week I think, and bought a lotus flower for his mother's pond. I remembered that much. But that's not what fully drew my eyes to him, it was the fact that Willen was walking and talking to him. I waved hi, he noticed and smiled.

"Lilac, hey! The flowers in yet?"

"Yes they just got in, I just finished dethorning all 300 roses." he then noticed my hands covered in bandages, I laughed embarrassedly.

"Ah sorry about that, the roses were Steph's idea, she wanted all the expensive things.." he sighed and we all entered my shop, it was covered in scattered leaves that had come off the roses from the dethorning process. I grab a broom as I begin to carefully sweep them up.

"I got them for a cheaper price, so it wasn't that much, I was just surprised by the huge amount of flowers she wanted.."

"How many were there?" he asked, he looked a bit concerned.

"900, 300 of each kind."

"For god's sake...I told her not to get too many.."

His friend patted his back as I caught his eye and looked away a little as I then bent down and grabbed the leaves and placed them in a pot. I did this often, I tend to get a little bored and I would make the leaves into different decorations sometimes for around my store.

"So who is this?" I ask directing to the man.

Willen smiles awkwardly, "Oh right you two never met, this is my best friend Seyden, same age as me, I've known him since I was in the first grade."

Seyden waves hi and I smile back, "I've seen you here once before, you bought a lotus flower, for your mother's pond, right?" I say lightly

He nods, "Yes I did, she loved it btw."

"Good."

It's quiet for a moment and then Willen gets a phone call from Stephanie, she was getting frustrated by the fact that their budget wasn't high enough. Now, something I never had the courage to do, was to stand up to her. I've known her for a few years now, and she was always the gold digging player kind of gal. She never was satisfied, so when she told me she was engaged I was shocked and that's when I found it was just to get more money, I was so pissed but I never could find the time to tell Willen how she actually is, that's thanks to my anxiety disorders, but I had to try and bring it up.

He got off the phone shortly after she called and he looked really annoyed and upset. That's when I found myself speaking to him about how Stephanie truly is. I mentioned how stubborn and selfish she can be, and how her intentions were. He simply nodded, he knew I was telling the truth. Seyden looks surprised at all of this as I ignore it, "So..did you know or realize any of this?" I lightly asked Willen

He nodded, "Yea, I just didn't want to believe it I guess. But this whole wedding thing definitely did bring out the true intentions she had."

Seyden then asks, "You're not going on with the wedding right? I won't let you be with that trashy of a person."

"I have too..right?" he asks, he was starting to tear up.

"You don't actually need too Willen, its your choice tho, but I would talk to her first." I said as I lifted some of the flowers up in my arms carefully, "besides if you do, then I can still use these for selling and take them to my house or give them away to people, so no need to worry about that if you are." I had tried to lighten the mood a little, but it didn't exactly work too well.

He and Seyden left the shop after a few, I felt bad, but he said that he would just deal with it, he didn't want to try again, so the wedding was to be held still, in 2 days now..
