Layla's Story

ch10 Surprise...

(The night before my birthday).  I was tired of school, everyone had treated my like I was a sad puppy. Sky, Leon, Claire, and Piper had tried to make me happy but it did not work. Ever since that day when he left, I had not seen him. It's  like he just moved or disappeared. I was lying in my bed when my mom had come to check on me.
"Hey sweety. How are you"? I looked at her.
"Hey mom. I'm good, just tired". She walked towards me and kissed my forehead.
"Me and your dad will me out so breakfast is going to be in the fridge, ok sweety"? She said she was going to be out, why though. She did not have work nor did dad.
"Ok,  love you mom". I turned in my bed. My mom turned off the light and shut my door before she walked out.
(The day of my birthday). I woke up and got out of my bed. I walked to my bathroom then I walked into the kitchen. I called for my mom. No answer. I called for my dad. Again no answer. I guess they left but to where. I checked the time it was 10:00. I called my mom but it went straight to voicemail. I kinda got a little nervous. I walked back up stairs to change. When I got to my room, I heard a knock on the door. Who could that be? I ran downstairs. I thought it was mom and dad but it was Piper and Sky. I opened the door.
"Hey,  what are you guys doing here"? They looked at each other. Sky looked at me.
"come on. Your coming with us". I looked at them.
"I'm not going anywhere dressed like this". Piper laughed.
"I got something for you". She gave me a light blue box. It had a tag on it with my name on it.
"What is this piper". She looked at sky then back at the box.
"Just go put it on". I was so confused. They came inside and I ran up stairs. When I got up stairs, I opened the box and it had a dress and some shoes.
"Piper,  what the fuck is this"? I could hear her laughing downstairs.
"Its a gift for you just put it on". A gift for what?
I didn't say anything. I put on the dress. It was a red strapless dress that was made of lace. Then I put on the shoes. They were my most hated shoes, heels. Under my breath I kept telling piper that I was going to kill her later. I put on the shoes. Thank goodness they were black ankle boots. When I was done putting on the shoes I headed towards the living room. When I walked out into the living room Piper and Sky were waiting for me. Sky laughed.
"Time for makeup". I looked at them.
"No way. I am not putting makeup on me". Piper came towards me.  She grabbed by hand and sat me down in a chair. When they were done with my makeup piper looked at me and smiled. She gave me a small makeup mirror to look at my makeup. It actually did not look that bad.
"Ok now let's go". Piper and Sky started walking towards the door.
"Where are we going"?  They did not answer. We sat in silence. We had arrived at pipers house. Why were we at pipers house? We got out and walked toward the house.
"Stay here ok". Before I got to say anything Piper and Sky walked into the house. I waited about a minute. Piper and Sky came back outside but everyone else came with them. Why was everyone at pipers house? My mom and dad came towards me. My mom grabbed my hand.
"Happy birthday layla". If it was my birthday them it had been 2 months and 13 days since that day. The last day I had seen Chris.
"Wow thanks mom and dad". Everyone was there, including Leon and Claire. I looked around for Chris but no luck.
"Come we have a gift for you". A gift huh.  What was this gift. They gave me a envelope.
"What is this"? They did not answer my question.
"just open it honey". My mom and dad really wanted me to open it. I opened the envelope and it was a title for my truck. They had given the truck to me. I almost cried. Piper then ran towards me.
"Don't ruin my makeup". Everyone started to laugh.

A few hours after I opened my first gift, Keenan walked towards me and wrapped his hands around my waist. He pulled me close to him and kissed me.
"Sorry I'm late babe". When he kissed me one of the vision came back to me. I was on the bathroom counter and Chris kissed me. I came back to reality when Keenan shook me.
"Hey, Layla you ok"? I looked at him and ran. I hid in the shed. A few minutes later I heard everyone trying to find me.  I stayed in the shed. I went to grabbed my phone to check the time but it was not in my pocket anymore. I must have left it outside. Before I could open the door to get it,  I heard a voice that sounded familiar but I did not know who it was. I opened the door just a little and I saw him. I ran out of the shed and ran towards him. I jumped into his arms. It was Chris, I had not seen him in a while and here he was standing here at my birthday. Then I heard someone walking towards us.
