Layla's Story

ch14 lunch date

After cheer practice I started to walk towards the changing room to get my bag. I heard the door open but all the girls were at lunch.
"Michelle are you still here"?  No one answered so I looked around.
"Hey beautiful. I haven't seen you in forever". I turned around. Keenan was standing there. I have not seen Keenan since my disaster of a birthday. I ran towards him. I ran over to him and hugged him.
"Hey how are you"? He looked at me and smiled. I looked at the time.
"We have To go to lunch. I'm Supposed to meet Chris outside". He looked at me and smiled.
"Are you dating him"? I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not answering that question".  We started to walk towards the door. I almost forgot my bag. I ran to get it and met up with Keenan. When we arrived at the cafeteria Chris was waiting outside for me. He saw Keenan and started towards us.
"What are you doing with her"? I stopped him. I did not want to be in another fight.
"He did not hurt me. He just said hi". Chris looked at me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and whispers into my ear.
"Are you sure"?  I kissed his cheek.
"I'm sure". He kissed my cheek and looked at Keenan.
"Keenan I'll meet you in there. Go on". Chris looked at me.
"Actually you won't, your going sit with me". I looked at him with confusion.
"What do you mean"? He did not answer me.  He grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. He pulled me until  we got to my table.
"I'm stealing layla". Leon and Claire smiled.
"Ok. See ya. I look at Leon and Claire with confusion. They just smiled at me. Chris pulled me farther away and we stopped at his table for a second. Luke smiled at him.
"So leaving us huh"? Chris just shook his head and pulled me once more. We ended up at a table in the corner. It was empty. He sat me down and smiled. He looked at me for a minute.
"So when are we going to get lunch"? He just smiled. He looked at the salad bar.
"We could go now if you want". I looked at him.
"Sure let's go". He helped me up and we walked to the salad bar. After we grabbed lunch we walked back to the table. I started to eat my salad when Chris got up.
"I'll be right back". I saw him walk away. I looked at Leon and Claire with confusion. They just shrugged their shoulders and laughed. Chris walked in the middle of the room. I looked at luke but he just laughed.
"Everyone can I please get your attention". Everyone looked at Chris.  The room got so silent I was afraid of what he was going to do.
"I need layla Fiyers to join me in the middle of the room please". He looked at me. I shook my head and whispered.
"no,  no way Am I going in the middle of the room".  I heard someone scream.
"Come on don't be shy girly". It was Leon he was really trying to get on my nerves. Chris looked at me and whispered. "Come on, you got this". I looked at him and stood up. I walked over to him. Then he continued. I looked at Sky and Piper but Sky was too busy talking to luke and piper was talking to Claire. I turned towards Chris and he was on one knee,  what was he doing?
"Layla Fiyers, will you be my date to prom".  I could not help it.  I started to cry.
"Chris of course I would be your date". He got up and pulled me closer to him and kissed me.
