Ding, Dong. Daniella jumped. She was in her living room, a cozy room that has brought her grief as of late. She got up and went to the mirror to see how decent she was. When she got there she wasn't surprised to see her hair like a rats nest and her black dress all rumpled and stained. And all her make-up smeared. Anyone that saw her would know she had been crying. Ding, Dong. I wish they would just go away. I don't need anymore comfort, I just want to be alone. Ding, Dong. Why do bad things always happen to me. When she opened the door she saw a tall man who was nothing but skin and bone. This wasn't someone to comfort her. It was someone to take her away from her home and put her with a total stranger. It was the "Howler of the night." the "Big Bad Wolf".
"Good morning my dear. You look..... lovely today." he said with a little sneer with disgust.
"What do you want." not even trying to cover my annoyance.
"I am here to relocate you. After all you don't have anyone to watch you here now. Do you?" I looked over my shoulder into the kitchen where my mothers coffin lay on the table.
"No." I said. I turned back around and asked him a simple question. "Who?" I felt like if I said one more word I would break and cause my house to flood.
"Do you remember a man by the name Nick Hunter?" That name...no.....it can't....i will not live with him!
"That's my fathers name." I said dripping bitterness towards that man that left my mom as soon as he found out I was a girl, and not a boy. "He left me! He didn't want anything to do with me! Why now!" That's when the man decided I was off my rocker I bet.
"Look all I know is that he called said he would like to take care of you. Here are the tickets. Plane leaves first thing in the morning. Chow."
I watched the man walk to his small black convertible while the rain drizzled. Its been raining for 2 days straight now. When will anything go my way. I waved at the neighbors that were on their porches. They probably came out when I yelled at the man when he mentioned....him. I went inside and went to the kitchen. What happened mom? What happened? Everyone is saying that an animal broke in and attacked her, but my gut is telling me it wasn't an animal, it was a human.
It was the next day and the rain kept on its onslaught. I have arrived at the airport. That's when my life as Daniela Monroe ended and my life as Daniela Hunter began. The planes food wasn't all that bad. They seemed to be giving me the special treatment. That's when I figured out I was in the special seating. I hadn't really looked at the ticket but now that I have I now realized he is trying to win me over with money. The nerve of him. I am not his little princess, I am not his anything. I will not heed a single thing he says.
"We are now arriving in Caramoo, Kansas. Please buckle up." As I walked into the Caramoo, Kansas airport I saw gloomy skies of gray and dull paint jobs. I then saw a sign that said "Daughter of Nick Hunter".... if he truley wanted me, wouldn't he of put my name on that sign...i could just walk past it and they wouldn't know. I could just disapear.... but then where would i go, i don't know anyone here. "Bonjour, by chance are you Daniela Hunter?" the man with the sign said with a rich french accent.
"Yes." I answered with a bland expression and a bland tone.
"If you will" he stated and turned around and started walking to the door. I decided it would be better if i followed him...so i did.
Once i walked out of the airport i saw the man with the sign standing next to a limo holding the backdoor open. I walked to the limo and as i started to duck into it he said "My name is Augestine." he said calmly with a small smile . I nodded and as soon as i was seated he shut the door and climbed into the drivers seat, and we were off to see....him.
