It was a nice breezy evening in June when this story occurred. My friends Suzanne, Lily, and Alex were at the beach when the tide start to come. We had just built a nice fire and where planning on sleeping at the beach for the next month in tents.
I went to get a couple more boxes out of our jeep. When I got back Suzanne and Lily where in the water while Alex was cozying up by the fire.
"Hey that was fast Tammy" Said Alex. I started to talk to her while unpack the little boxes of food we had.
"Yah the jeep isn't that far away from where we are." It really wasn't it was probably a 10 minute walk.
"But there are still more boxes, wanna help?" Alex nodded and we walked down a trail that leads to the bright blue jeep.
"Hey Tammy can I ask you somthing?" Alex asked in her small child like voice.
"Shoot"
"Please don't say that Lily kept joking on the way here that." of corse she did Lily always made fun of Alex because she was always the shyest with her dark hair in front of her face, and her green eyes consentrated on the floor. O corse Lily didn't like that, she was the blonde preppy girl with her hair always pulled back in a neat pony tail and her brilliant blue eyes always concentrated on what's in front of her.
"I'll talk to her, but you should remember she loves to make things up"
Alex looked up at me and gave a small grin
"I know"
We got back to the beach and heard a scream, I looked at Alex and her small smile turned into a petrified glare, we dropped our boxes and ran towards where we last saw them. It was dark by now but I could still see faint shadows from the illuminating light of the fire I could see Suzanne with her long black hair wet from the water her eyes stared back at mine in fear we can closer and Lily's on the ground bleeding. I ran to get my phone and called 911. When I hung up the phone I slammed it down on the table and ran back to Lily. How could this be happening? Is Lily going to die? I wiped tears from my eyes and knelt by Lily. Her head was bleeding and she was crying. I turned to Suzanne.
"What happend"
I didn't know what I was feeling sad, angry, terrified.
"I don't know something brushed up against my leg and dragged Lily under the water, I grabbed her and threw rocks at whatever was in the water."
I heard ambulances in the background
"Suzanne go get the people in the ambulance make sure they know where they are going." I looked at Lily trying so hard to hold myself together.
"Suzanne's lying" she muttered and pointed to the broken glass lying on the beach.
Suzanne and the paramedics returned with a stretcher, I was furious I didn't know what I was going to do. A police officer ran behind the paramedics. I stood up from Lily and ran over to the officer. Suzanne did this Lily told me. Suzanne stood behind me.
"You little peice of shit!" Suzanne yelled at Lily as the paramedics took her away.
"You lying peice of shit, Lily if I ever see you again I will kill you!"
I couldn't believe it Lily, Alex, and Suzanne where my best friends.
Suzanne looked at us and ran, with the police officer chasing after her I fell to my knees and thought, why would she do this?
