"How is she Kaede?"

"Her wound has stabilized, but she has lost a lot of blood. She will be unconscious for a few days." The old maiden named Kaede replied.

"What happened out there Inuyasha?" The monk named Miroku asked him.

"I'm not sure. When I got there, she was already hurt. Any second later and she would have been dead." I should've gotten to her sooner. Inuyasha thought, feeling bitter.

"Did you see her clothes?" The demon slayer named Sango asked.

"Yes, they were similar to the type Kagome usually wears." Miroku concluded.

"Now that I think about it, Kagome has yet to come back as well." Sango said, worried for her friend.

"You don't think Kagome got hurt too, do you?" Shippo asked, voice filled with concern over her.

"Inuyasha." Miroku didn't need to ask before the half-demon knew.

"Yeah, I'll go through the well to see if Kagome's alright." Then I'll come back to her. He thought. Before Inuyasha could head out, there were fast footsteps approaching the hut.

"I'm back! Please tell me she's here." Kagome came running in a frantic panic, her backpack hanging on her shoulders.

"Kagome you're back!" Said Shippo.

Kagome hunched over trying to catch her breath. She looked up at her friends in a frenzy. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner, I wanted to stock up on medical supplies for Kagami just in case. Is she here?"

"Ay, the girl is unconscious for now. Her wounds were deep but salvageable. I'd assume it will take a few days for her to wake up." Kaede said, informing her. Kagome falls to the ground in relief and regret. "If only I hadn't invited her over, none of this would've happened." She cries into her hands, worry evident on her features. Kagome only knew the girl for a week, but she cared deeply for her. Sango got up from her spot to comfort her crying friend. "Oh, Kagome it will be alright. As Kaede said, she'll wake up in a few days." She said gently embracing Kagome and rubbing her back in soothing circles.

"Kagome, do you mind enlightening us on what happened?" Miroku asked.

"Yeah, of course." Kagome proceeded to explain everything that's happened so far back in her era. From the moment she met Kagami to the moment she came over to her home and got captured. "The demon was after me at first for the jewel shards, but Kagami pushed me out of the way at the last second and got caught instead." Kagome said, concluding her story.

"I assume afterward she managed to escape its grasp and ran away." Miroku predicted.

"Leading to me finding her about to be killed by said demon." Inuyasha finished.

"Do you think Naraku could've been involved?" Sango asked.

"Hmph, I wouldn't be surprised. You know how he likes to mess with people's lives." Inuyasha said angrily.

"So was Kagami forced to come here because of the demon?" Shippo asked, curiously.

"That is possible, but I think that something else entirely could be the cause of her being here." Miroku pondered. "Kagome while you were with the girl, have you noticed anything strange?" Kagome sat there holding her chin deep in thought. Her eyes widened at a particular moment she recalled. "Now that I think about it, I have. Although I'm not sure how to explain it. When we first met, I made contact with her. That's when I noticed this weird light glowing from her chest. I'm not sure why it happened though. It hasn't appeared since then."
