Namjoon's Pov

A month ago.

Today, I and Jin Hyung were summoned by His Majesty in his study along with other royal members of the family.

It was a bit weird because we are not the members of the family, not that he ever made us feel left out but still we were not the royal blood so attending a meeting with all the royals present was a bit surprising.

I was with Taehyung in his study when a guard informed us that His Majesty has summoned every member to his study. While I was in the hallway with Taehyung heading towards the study, we were met with Jin Hyung and Jungkook who were as usual bickering.

Taehyung downright ignored Jungkook's presence as he kept walking when Jungkook greeted him. 

I can understand if he doesn't like him but he shouldn't be that obvious, it hurts Jungkook. It's pretty visible on his face and when he slumps his shoulders down with a sigh. I feel bad for him since he tries so hard to please him but it's always in vain.

I gave Jin Hyung and him a fist pump and quickly followed Taehyung who had already gone too ahead in order to ignore Jungkook that he passed the study room. He's too childish sometimes that it's painful to watch.

"Sir, it is this way," I called out, not forgetting to use the honorifics, and pointed to the door.

I heard Jungkook and Jin Hyung snicker behind me and enter the room whereas Taehyung was all flustered as from the opposite side of the hallway, his fiancé Park Sua was arriving and she witnessed his silly mistake.  

He quickly retreated his steps and moved towards her. He guided her to the study while clearing his throat and I followed him, suppressing my smile.

I've always been envious of the bond that Jungkook and Jin Hyung share. I and Taehyung have also been together ever since I can remember but still, there is a bit of a difference between us. He likes to keep everything to himself and shuts people out who try to help him.

We are close and he tends to rely on me sometimes but I would like it if he wouldn't be so closed off to everyone and enjoy as everyone does. Even though after the arrival of Sua, he has been a bit cheery and that is a relief.

We got seated in the ample room with the King was sitting on a large armchair in front of us.

I, Jin Hyung, and Yoongi Hyung were sitting at the back while all the other royals were sitting in the front. Even the Queen was present as an audience so whatever is going to be announced will be a piece of new information for her too.

Besides her is sitting her brother who's also the royal advisor, Gong Dushik. He's a grumpy old guy with a scary scar on his cheeks and a weirdly protruding beard with a half-balding head.

He became the royal advisor after my father, Kim Yeonjun, the former advisor passed away in that fire accident. I don't know what is his problem but he seems to be always annoyed by me and Jin Hyung even if we don't do anything. He's a nutter.

The king cleared his throat and all of us focused on him.

"I thank all of you to arrive at such short notice and want to deliver very pleasing news to you all." He started.
