the heated interaction between them never ended that night. ever since that night, byulyi had already declared war against kim seokjin, swearing that once the king goes back, she'll tell him everything that happened within' the palace.
and to make her fume even more, seokjin nonchalantly told her that he'll gladly tell the king everything before she could even do.
the war never ended.
if seokjin will describe it- being at war with a woman, specifically with moon byulyi, is harder than facing another village.
and if seokjin is trying is best to avoid any interaction with her, byulyi does her best to get into his nerves.
he changes his visiting routine often to avoid the woman's presence being alive, but byulyi does often caught up, too.
he was not sure how at first, but that was the first time that he'll be ever scared of her instincts.
and what annoys him the most was the moments that byulyi kept on leaving unnecessary threats written in letters towards his office, making him sigh out of defeat, reading through it.
just by when he's about to tell byulyi about it, he'll catch her everywhere, escaping the guards, only to be caught back in due to her noticeable dress and hair, making her hiss, cursing him in ten different ways under her breath.
but even if seokjin had never told anyone, he's curious on how byulyi was escaping the hands of his platoon, never bringing it up with the king knowing that he'll be asking for a stricter mandate over the second princess.
he needed to watch over her before doing something.
after narrating the series of byulyi's tantrums in the palace, the king could only laugh and lower his cup of tea.
"what did she do?"
"she waited for me all night, just to tell me that i should stop enforcing ten guards around her place every time i am away."
the king chuckles softly, whispering. "of course, that's the safest choice i could ever do to protect her and joohyun."
jin looks over him, noticing the soft tone in his voice, as seokjin mutters. "i had never heard royal guard lee complaining about joohyun, though."
"moon byulyi is fussy, that is why i trusted you to handle her."
seokjin took a sip of his own tea, muttering. "are you not going to tell her about the strict policy to protect her? she seems to be aloof of the idea of caging her in."
the king pauses for a moment, looking at the royal guard. "i will not allow her to feel threatened, it's hard to let her know about the plan of jung, she will surely be vocal about the disagreement." he whispers, as seokjin sighs, whispering. "i am quite certain that she's a smart woman to not ruin our plans, your highness."
after noticing the subtle encouragement of seokjin for him to let byulyi know about the current situation in the palace, the king could only lower his cup of tea, his smile fading away. "are you suggesting that i should include the second princess with our plan?"
seokjin can feel the light grudge in the king's voice, looking back at him as he whispers. "i am not forcing you to do it, your highness." he defended himself, adding. "i am just telling you my idea, since it can cause more chaos and grief towards you if the second princess will know this when the jungs are already attacking."
the king remained silent, knowing that seokjin is a firm believer of his own words, somehow a reflection of byulyi. now that they are clashing, seokjin seems to understand byulyi's actions even if they were never close before.
