Chapter 10- Ski Trip, Day 2

Chapter 10

Day 2 Ski Trip- 7am

Heather's Pov

Anabella and I were getting ready to go down to get breakfast at the cafe. I was brushing my hair.

"I almost got in trouble last night. Mr. Bennett caught me coming in after curfew," I said.

Anabella was swiping lipgloss onto her lips," What!? I knew you shouldn't have gone out," she said.

"I just needed to think. I need to talk to John today, but he's hanging out with his buddies all the time since we got here," I said.

We finished getting ready and went downstairs and walked to the cafe. We spotted our classmates throughout the cafe, having their breakfast. We sat down at a table and looked over the menu.

"Try not to stress so much about John. This is your trip too, have some fun," Anabella said.

"I'll try. I love skiing," I said.

A waiter walked up to our table and we ordered coffee and food. I laid the menu aside after the waiter walked off.

"So I have news," Anabella whispered.

"What is it?" I asked curiously.

"Last night, Joey and I....." She said.

"Oh my god! No way!" I screeched.

"Shhh! Heather!" She gasped.

"Sorry! I just can't believe it," I whispered the last part.

"Well, I don't want the whole cafe to know, our classmates are in here," she whispered.

Our food and coffee arrived. I had ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Anabella had ordered the same. We need the fuel for skiing all morning, the slopes would be amazing.

Right before lunch that day, I was back at the lodge. Our classmates were filing in, chattering excitedly. I spotted John coming in with his friends, he was holding his snowboard. I need to talk to him about how he was treating me on this trip, I walked over to him.

"John, we should talk," I said.

"Do we have to now? I'm busy," John said.

"Yes. Now. Please," I said.

"Alright guys, I'll be back. The misses is calling," John joked. His friends laughed, patting him on the back.

We walked over to the sitting area near the fireplace, no one else was around it so we sat down on the sofa.

"So what is this about?" He asked.

"We are supposed to be a couple, spending time together on this trip but you treat me like an afterthought," I said to him.

"Heather, I'm not going to ditch my friends for you. They are my friends, they've been with me since pre-school," he said.

I felt my heart breaking at his words, I obviously didn't mean as much to him as he did to me," I see," I said.

Joey's Pov

Anabella and I went to get hot chocolate from the cafe. We were sitting at a table together.

"Baby, falling in love with you is the best thing that has ever happened to me," I said. " I love you."

"I love you too Joey," she said softly," I never thought we'd fall in love."

"Me either. I always thought we'd stay best friends, but now we can be best friends no matter what. We are made for each other."

A waiter set hot chocolate mugs before us, marshmallows swam in the chocolate liquid and peppermint stick was in the cup too.

"Thank you," Anabella said to the waiter. He nodded.

"Thanks," I said.

The waiter walked away and Anabella picked up her mug, blowing on the hot chocolate before taking a small sip," I can't wait for Christmas," she said with a huge smile.

"You have to come over on Christmas Day. My parents would love it," I said to her.

"I love your parents. I'd love that," she agreed.

"It'll be incredible. We can exchange gifts and eat christmas cookies!" I said, feeling excited by the idea.
