The Forsaken One - A Backrooms Story

The Disturbing Lights Above

One day, someone named Li was casually strolling along the sidewalk, until they tripped on a can of Coke. They fell down, but, instead of expecting a sore impact, they didn't feel anything but a sudden small vibration that felt like a mild bump. They landed on something mildly wet, they had their eyes clenched close to prepare for the impact, but they could never assume what was going to happen. They opened their eyes in surprise, to see a big, almost flickering light which produced a humming sound that could make you go nuts if you listened to it for too long. They stared around in confusion, until they saw their backpack on the other side of the room, it must have flung off from the collision. They reached into it and pulled out a few things, some bandaids, 2 and... a half?? to be exact, they looked down at their knee and it looked pretty bruised from the collision of the soggy carpet. They then pulled out ointment from their backpack, and then a flashlight. They also had matches. They were walking to a campsite, for a field-trip with school, they and their fellow classmates had been walking the same direction, but they drifted behind the crowd, meaning nobody saw them fall. All they were wearing was a crop-top, suspenders, tight black shorts shorts and an oversized, yet for style, belt. They reached down to their crotch area, and tugged the belt tighter so it wouldn't fall. They finally got up of the ground, and started treading into a long room. They looked into the distance and saw the place stretches so far that it is pitch dark at the supposed "end" to Li's view, the place seemed to concern them, so they ran. They ran into the darkness, and that darkness began to move forward, faster everytime Li ran. It was like the end was running from them, they thought it went on forever. They heard mild noises, which really concerned them. The main things they heard was slugging and, the weird buzzing sound of the lights. They eventually came to a room which had a silver cabinet with a phone on top, shortly after they had exited the room, the phone rang. They rushed back and answered it, all they could hear was breathing, then the phone hung up. But then, a strange man walked into the room, well, they looked like a man. Li rushed back, but the man pounced towards Li, like a panther out to get something. Li hit the man over the head with the torch he had, and scraped a match off the nearest wall. He tossed it at the man, and watched the man burn. But deep down, Li knew it was supernatural, which we will now call an Entity. Li knew they could hear something behind them, so they picked up a corner of their suspenders, and bolted down the corridor. Until they heard the creature so close that Li had no choice but to sacrifice themselves. They dived onto the carpet, expecting to be mauled alive, but no... it seemed diving head first into things would cause you to go through objects here. They seemed to have wound up in a... different place. It made no sense. They didn't understand where they were, all the knew was that they were in danger.
