Caral pov
The sound of my leaving truck echoed in my new house. The house was just a one-floor house with a living space, two bedrooms, an enormous kitchen with a dining area, and two bathrooms as well in each room. The walls were brownish, possibly due to the long time no one painted them.
Sigh, the house owner didn't have basic manners to clean the house up before I moved in, then again, it doesn't matter. not when I have no purpose.
I brought along things I could grab while I made my escape, to run away from people that called me theirs once, to have cheated and insulted my dignity.
My parents left with just a little money, not that I could be bothered when my life was messed up and couldn't come out. I missed being with them, then again, they called me a curse for a reason.
bringing death to people around me had almost gotten to me even though that's not me or in my control. I simply come from a normal background, and as a child, that's what I always wanted.
but time took my parents away, the last remains of my family line. not that we were anything important, but we, I had no blood relative living, so it doesn't matter at this point.
Sighing once again, I unpacked all my things from the boxes and set them as they seem fit. I moved into this house just yesterday. and it already feels gloomy around here.
The house was big and spacious. I wonder why the house owner rented me at such low rent? anyways, works for me, I guess, this poor girl gets to live in a big safe space.
Exhausted from all the packing, I decided to go to a nearby restaurant.
I got dressed in a white crop top with spaghetti straps over it, jacket, and jeans, along with my purse, and headed out. The walk to the place wasn't far, just good enough to be called a good stroll.
ever since I moved here, I never heard of my neighbours, not even lights from their place during evening hours. It's as if I was living alone in a place even though there were people around me.
After walking for a while, I saw the one I glanced upon when I was moving in with a truck bringing my luggage with me.
The ramen shop was quite aesthetic with fairy lights hanging along glass walls, with dark-colored walls and the tables look like the early 90s, its dusky wood yet clean, from outside the shop looked plain but inside it was as if I reached another era.
While appreciating the decor, suddenly a handsome man who was around 5'11 and with a long face with cute dimples, brown but deep eyes, blonde slightly curly and reaching his ears came to me. He wore a shiny bright aura around them and instantly the gloomy surroundings brightened up.
"Miss, please follow me," I sat at a table and shuffled through the menu to find food of my liking. After giving orders he left me.
My phone just rang then
"hello!"
"Caral, how are you doing? I heard you shifted into my old neighbourhood"
I recognized that voice, it was my best friend Jack.
"yea I'm pretty much settled now... thanks for helping me out there"
the last words came out low.
"No need to thank me, I did what I had to; I hope that jerk doesn't come back at you"
I hummed in response.
Just then my order came and I cut the call with him. I finished it as fast as I could because I was super hungry.
