Jeno took the cloth off of Mark after his head fell limp, and picked him up.
He was heavier than he expected, but he managed to drag him to the car.
"Hurry up! Open the door!" Jeno yelled, barely able to keep holding Mark for any longer. Whenever the door opened, Jeno got in and gently put Mark down. Johnny began to tie up Mark's hands and ankles, in case if he woke up he wouldn't be able to get up and do anything.
"Okay, are we safe to go?" Jaehyun asked, tapping his finger on the wheel.
"Mhm, he's tied down now," Johnny said, looking up at Jaehyun who immediately began driving to the base.
Whenever they arrived, they carried Mark in and brought him down to the basement, where they chained his ankle to a pole to make sure he couldn't move.
Jeno plopped onto the couch, out of breath from having to carry Mark two times. Mark seemed like such a skinny guy, he was surprised that he was heavy. Jeno was gonna have to work out more..
"Taeyong!" Jaehyun yelled, "The person you wanted is here!"
"I wonder why he wanted him," Johnny said while making himself some coffee. This job was exhausting.
Taeyong walked out of his office, "Where'd you put him?" he questioned, looking at the boys.
"We put him in the basement." Jeno said, pointing in the direction Mark was located.
Taeyong nodded and first walked to the shared room of Taeil and Haechan. He knocked on the door before opening it, "Haechan, you have a guest. Please follow me,"
Haechan looked up to Taeyong, and glanced at Taeil before getting up to follow the latter.
Whenever Taeyong and Haechan arrived at the basement, Taeyong stepped back, "I'll let you open it."
Haechan looked at the latter before opening the door to see Mark, he studied him carefully to make sure he wasn't hurt.
"Now, Haechan. Don't be scared to go to him, we haven't hurt him. Not yet at least."
Hearing that made Haechan's heart drop. They were gonna hurt Mark? Why? What did Mark ever do?
Haechan walked to Mark, and crouched down slowly, examining his face. He didn't want Mark to get hurt, Haechan knew what Taeyong could do. And he knew he would do it without thinking.
Haechan wanted to get Mark out, he was willing to face the consequences for letting him escape.
Mark woke up in an unfamiliar place, it was cold and dirty and he couldn't help but shiver.
"Donghyuck!!" He heard a voice yell, which made him stiffen. He was here? Was he the one who tied him up?
Mark quickly wiped that thought away, no matter how odd Haechan is being, he would never purposely hurt him. Right?
Mark shivered, he wanted to get up, but he quickly noticed his leg was chained up. He was beyond scared, but he was trying to act tough.
He didn't know the time, he didn't even know where he was. He just knew that it was dark, and that the place he was at was silent.
Mark leaned against the pole he was chained up too, trying to calm down. Whenever he heard the door open, he nervously looked up to see Haechan standing there with food in his hand.
"Mark.." Haechan softly said, before walking to him and giving him the food. "I'm not supposed to give you food, enjoy it so I can quickly dispose of it." He said, sitting down beside Mark.
Mark looked at him, not knowing how to feel about the situation. "So, why didn't you tell me you were part of NCT?" Mark said.
Donghyuck's emotionless face stayed as it was before, "I didn't want you to be scared of me," He simply said, "You'd think I was a monster."
Mark stopped eating, "I'd never consider you a monster, Hyuck. Me and you have been friends for 10 years. I know better than that,"
Donghyuck attempted to smile at that but it came out as more of a face that made him seem awkward, "I'm sorry you had to find out this way." Mark nodded his head and continued to eat,
Whenever Mark finished, he handed the plate to Donghyuck, who immediately got up and threw away the food.
"What're you doing, Hyuckie?" Renjun asked sleepily, Donghyuck jumped a little hearing the unexpected voice.
"I couldn't sleep, so I made some food for myself." He said calmly, Renjun nodded and opened the fridge, grabbing some milk and pouring some into a cup.
"I couldn't sleep either, what's keeping you up?"
"You know the guy in the basement? I'm scared for him," Donghyuck said, Renjun looked up at him and smirked.
"Well look at you, showing emotion for once." He said with a chuckle.
"I'm being serious. Me and that guy have been friends for our entire lives, and it's all my fault he's in there,"
"I'd rather live with my dad still." Donghyuck muttered loud enough for Renjun, whose features softened at that.
"Don't say that Hyuck. You know it's not your fault," Renjun said. Donghyuck mentally cursed himself for letting himself stay as attached as he is.
His father was right, emotion does make you weak. He's killed people without thinking twice, without even feeling bad. Even though he had gotten close to some of the victims, something about doing this to Mark hurt.
He decided to not see Mark again, he couldn't stand seeing him in that state.
Donghyuck couldn't sleep, he was scared. Sleeping meant he wouldn't be able to tell what was happening. What if Taeyong had hurt Mark while he slept? He wanted to know if anything happened.
"What's keeping you up?" He heard Taeil ask, Donghyuck looked at Taeil with a frown on his face.
"The guy in the basement.. I don't want Taeyong to hurt him." Donghyuck said, his voice shaking.
"I understand that fear, Hyuck. But what makes this guy so different from the rest?" He asked, walking over to Haechan's bed and laying down beside him.
"He.. he's been my friend for 10 years. We grew up together, Taeil." Haechan said, looking down at his thumbs.
Taeil smoothed out Haechan's hair before answering, "Who is it?"
"The boy from yesterday. Mark."
"The one who texted you?" Taeil asked, Donghyuck nodded and bit his lip nervously.
Taeil put an arm around the boy, "I'm sure he'll be okay. I know Taeyong is a scary boss but he won't act irrationally," Taeil said, sounding as if he was trying to convince himself. "The moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" He said, looking at the window over his bed.
Donghyuck turned around to see a full moon, "Yes, it is."
"I bet the sun will be just as bright as you tomorrow, Hyuck. You're stronger than you think, I wish you'd show your emotions to us more. If not anyone else, at least me," Taeil said, starting to get up and go back to his bed.
"Go to sleep, Hyuck. You need it so you can have energy tomorrow." And with that, Taeil turned off the lights and went to sleep on his own. But Donghyuck still couldn't sleep.
He had a bad feeling about the night, he didn't know if it was because Mark was here or what, but he felt nauseous.
Donghyuck eventually put his head under his pillow and squeezed his eyes tight, trying to sleep.
And he almost did, until he heard glass break in the basement.
