"I'm glad you decided to show." I say while taking a sip of my coffee.
"Well you didn't really give me much of a choice." Garred says while looking down at his shoes.
" I didn't? Also You know you're cute when you're flustered." I felt a smirk come on my face as I saw him start to blush.
"So what is it exactly you wanted to know?" He said obviously trying to change the subject.
"Mm are you gonna sit down?" I asked drinking more of my coffee. I watched as he pulled out the chair in front of me and sat down. "I want to know what you know about me and my friend. You see I know you know something.Something threatening to me and my partner, something that could end our whole career and everything we do. You see I'll tell you all about myself and all you need to do is tell me what you know." I say making direct eye contact with Garred.
"Wow well that's a lot of questions." Garred says
"I'm a curious person." I said with a happy tone. "Now are you gonna give me the info or not." I asked, with a more serious tone.
"Um yeah ok so All I know is that the other day I heard Henry talking to some other guy he said that the police knew of the warehouse break ins and were looking in to them. But they don't know that it was a professional job. But that's only a matter of time."
"Damn I should've known. How close are they?"
"I'm not su-" before he could finish he was cut off by someone rather rudley.
"Ami? What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing." I said standing up.
"Wait who is this?" the guy who was with her asks.
"Oh this is Ami, my roommate and best friend. Ami, this is Frédéric."
"Nice to meet you. This is Garred." I said pointing to Garred who was sitting down at the table still. " So do you guys wanna sit with us?"
"Yeah sure." Ava said.
When we are all seated, we all start talking about random things like our majors, side jobs, family, that sort of thing. Of course the three of us don't tell Frédéric what our side jobs are that would have been stupid. As we were talking Frédéric brings up warehouse break-ins in the area. When he brings that up, I can tell Garred and Ava start to panic slightly.
"Oh yeah me and Garred were just talking about that. It's crazy, like what could anyone possibly want from random warehouses?" I ask, trying my best to stay casual.
"That's what I said when my uncle told me about it." Frédéric responds.
"Your uncle?" Ava asks looking perplexed.
"Oh yeah I'm staying with him while I'm here. He works as a detective here. He's the one looking into the break-ins."
"So what exactly do the um know about?" Garred asks, obviously anxious just like I am.
"Not much yet. But if you ask me this is way too organized to be random. I think this is something that's been planned but a team of people. Who knows, maybe there are spies."
"Spies? Hey Ava he's a nerd just like you!" I jokingly try to not show how worried I am. Ava glares at me while her face turns red as Garred and I laugh at the joke I made. As we continued to talk and hang out I couldn't help but worry about what Frédéric had said.
