To be a bus driver was to be lonely, but never alone. As Brynn entered the parking lot, he thought about all the rowdy children he'd be driving to Monticello.
"Maybe I can get lunch at a nice place while I'm down there...", Brynn said to himself as he walked towards his bus door.
"If we're headed the same way, I'd love to join", called a flirtatious voice behind him. Brynn spun on his heel to look at the man. It was Gerald G. Jerald, his arch nemesis ever since highschool.
Brynn slammed his door behind him as he climbed into his seat. He buckled his seatbelt shortly after and adjusted his mirror slightly. In the reflection he could see Jerald's eyes. They were glistening with malice, or at least that's what it seemed like to Brynn.
"No thanks Gerald" He said. "I don't need you getting in my way."
"Well if you ever change your mind and decide to hang out with someone cool for once-" He started to shoot his shot, but Brynn cut him off with the sound of his bus engine starting.
"Don't worry, if I ever want to hang out with someone cool, I know where to find your mother's house." Brynn snickered to himself at his joke.
As Jerald grumbled away, he mumbled something about how Brynn was a waste of time anyway. Almost immediately he started hitting on his female coworker, so Brynn knew that what Jerald said doesn't mean anything. So, while Jerald sat pondering his next approach at the truck stop, Brynn drove himself to the school.
