Y/N's POV

I awake in Kakariko, with nothing short of a splitting headache. Opening my eyes, I see talismans strewn about and beds encroaching mine. "Oh that's just wonderful! You've woken up!" Trissa, the shop lady, approaches me smiling. She hands me a glass of water, sitting down in a chair beside me. "You've been out so long, young miss. What's your name?"

"Y/N, and how long do you mean by that?"

"Ah, that's just dandy! What a beautiful name. You've been out at least a day." As Trissa began to elaborate on my situation, the room's atmosphere took on a new dimension with the arrival of a young girl. Her presence was like a burst of color in the dimly lit room, and I couldn't help but shift my attention to the new arrival. Her hair is done up into a bun as steel strands fall in a line parallel to matching brows, and her eyes are almond-shaped, with vibrant earthly red irises. The sleeves to her sanded robes were puffed out, while below the elbows the cloth seemed to cling to her tiny arms for dear life. At the center of such garbs, the red lining of the ends cascaded down to a small pleather belt with a cute little pouch at her stomach. She was very much the light of a child, and her gleaming Cheshire smile said much the same.

"Who's this, Mrs. Trissa?" The child's gaze bore into the depths of my being. Besides this intense scrutiny, her demeanor exuded an aura of boundless curiosity and palpable excitement.
"This is Y/N, Koko. Would you bring me the pumpkin soup I made?" The girl who's name is apparently Koko eagerly nods, scampering off to get the soup as if her life depends on it. In what felt like the blink of an eye, she reappeared, a triumphant aura surrounding her, clearly reveling in the satisfaction of her successful soup-fetching mission.

For the next hour, I chatted with the two. Then Koko left, and Trissa and I remained. We spoke on what happened, and Trissa mentioned that whoever saved me said I was attacked by the Yiga. "A nice young man came asking for me to help, and I simply couldn't resist helping the poor boy. He was in quite the rush to speak to Impa, though." Just like that, the flame of our conversation dwindled. I needed to see Link.

"Was he blonde?" She nods. "Blue eyes?" She nods again. Ignoring my splitting headache, I jump up and take my bag to reach Impa. Unfortunately, I forgot that guards block the way for anyone and everyone. "I need to see Link, move!" I ran past the guards and up the steps, straying past the wooden doors. It seemed Link and Impa were talking, but not anymore. They were staring at me.

"Tell me your name." Impa smiles at me, knowingly.

"Y/N." My face burns from the embarrassing intrusion I just made. But Impa is not at all surprised- or bothered.

"Ah, yes. Come, let me tell you of your destiny." I hesitantly step forward, my attire only consisting of bandages around my entire torso and slightly small travelers sweats. Never bothered to put on shoes either, but at least for right now my hair was perfectly brushed, pushing below the level of my hips. Regardless of my appearance, she begins. "An evil returns time and time again, but each time, there are hero and a princess bearing the golden powers are there to defeat and seal this evil away. 10,000 years ago, Calamity struck." She gestures her frail old hands to the mural behind her, "The people thought it wise to use their technological prowess. They created four divine creatures, called the Divine Beasts. These 4 Divine Beasts were mounted by four skilled individuals from different tribes."
My gaze found it's way to the corners of the tapestry, taking in the sights of the Divine Beasts. following the trajectory of my eyes, Link found his sights on the mural as well. One was the shape of an elephant, another the shape of a camel, one a lizard, and the fourth shaped as a bird. "Then smaller mechanical weapons were created: Guardians, to protect the hero." She shifts her hand to point to the spider-like devices around the depiction of the calamity in the center. "The Divine Beasts unleashed a ferocious attack upon the calamity, and the hero delivered the final blow with the sacred weapons that seal the darkness. As they did this, the princess used her sacred powers to seal away Calamity Ganon. We did our best to prepare for Calamity Ganon's return, but despite our best efforts and careful planning, we underestimated his power."

Scrutinizing me, her eyes trailed down my being. "They did create one other safeguard before the calamity struck. You, girl, must find your slate. I'm unsure why you came here without it, unless they made a huge mistake preparing you."
Her hand that once led our sights to the mural now lay clenched in her lap. Both of our gazes follow her hand until it lays in her lap, now opting to look into her eyes. "We must never again make that mistake. The princess has left the future of Hyrule in both of your hands. Travel onward to Hateno Village. There is someone named Purah you must meet at the Ancient Tech Lab. Hateno Village is southeast of here." Impa concluded, giving a final look.

In the meantime, I was left perplexed. I'm only a normal girl from a normal town. From Earth. I could feel the subtle rain of my heart drizzle onto my lashes. Why me? Before I could let myself dwell on the question further, Link took hold of my hand and pulled me outside, then down the steps. We stood before the inn, his expression stoic. "Are you okay?" The Hylian boy stared at me, expectant of a reply. Instead, I brushed him off and asked my own question.

"You have no former memory of anything before the calamity, right?" He gives a hesitant nod, tilting his head to prompt me to continue. "You need armor." Him and I went to the armor shop and he purchased some common sheikah garbs, covered with some bronze plates of armor.

"Hey." I nod in reply. "We should rest." No later than he said so, I noticed the vibrant rays from the sun became saturated orange with a gradient of pink lemonade in the sky. It was nearing nighttime.

"Damn, I could go for a late night drive right now." Link's expression contorted for a slight moment. Forgetting that we weren't on earth again, I sigh.

Hey, guys. In the process of fixing this chapter too. My writer's block is pretty bad but I don't want to abandon the story so I'm changing some fine details.
