Alison's POV:

After Hermione had given me that empowering speech, I decided that it was time to stop moping around and actually do something about Draco. Huddling my robes around me, I headed down the familiar route to the dungeons.

Thankfully the password to the Slytherin house hadn't changed since I had be re-relocated back to Gryffindor. Quietly, I slipped inside the doors and into the shadows. The main room was empty except for a crackling green fire in the center.

Suddenly my eyes were drawn to a sleek figure coming down the stairs. As soon as their face passed into the light, my heart stopped.

Was it impossible to love someone so much? My heart burst with the thought of merely just being around him. The hostility was pointless; I knew at that moment that my love would belong to Draco Malfoy forever.

"Draco" I called out suddenly, and his brilliant green eyes jumped in my direction. Without thinking, I ran to him, only to be flung backward by some kind of spell. I knocked against the cobblestone wall, smacking my head in the process.

"Stay away you piece of filth," said Draco. "I have no idea why I was ever involved with a prude like you. Now I see that it was all a lie, a trick of the sorting hat." His hurtful words hit me hard but did not phase me. I got up from the wall and proceeded towards him slowly.

"Draco, I don't care what you say. It doesn't matter that we're not in the same house anymore. Nothing I ever said to you was a lie. I saw a side of you that I'm guessing not many people see. Please, stop doing this to yourself." As I spoke, my words got louder and louder to the point of shouting.

There was a moment of hesitation from Draco, but almost as soon as it had appeared, a blockade of hard stone replaced it. He started to turn away, flicking up the ends of his green and black robes. I could tell that I only had one more chance to get through to Draco before I lost him forever, and he lost me.

"I love you."

Finally the words that I had been holding in for months came tumbling out of my mouth. A huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders, and I felt free. Yes, I loved Draco, more than anything, and he finally knew it.

Draco paused, and I could feel his shock. Quickly, he turned around and lunged towards me. Fearing that he was going to hurt me, I whipped out my wand and prepared myself for the worst. But instead, I was greeted by a warm embrace. He squeezed my shoulders and pressed his bleached hair into the crook of my neck. A huge sigh came out of the complicated boy.

In that infinitesimal moment, the world felt perfect. The shadows danced off of the walls in celebration and the fire burned and sparked higher and brighter. The snowflakes slowed, and so did my breathing. Even without saying it, I knew Draco loved me also.

--------------------------------------

That night was spent catching up on the month of time lost. We shared stories, hardships, and even the smallest details were recounted. The entire time Draco held my hand, and squeezing from time to time as to make sure I was really there, and not a dream.

I also received news on the current status of Lucius Malfoy and Voldemort. It was apparent that war was not far away and that Draco had hard decisions to make.

"I've missed you" I said softly, as to not wake the other students upstairs. Draco smiled and said "I've missed you too, Alison." He leaned forward, and suddenly I was flying.

Kissing Draco after waiting so long was like nothing describable. Our love for each other was palpable, and it was magical (no pun intended).

Suddenly his hands were under my shirt, and my hands were clinging onto his back. Tentativeness had quickly turned into fiery kissing, and I was completely lost in the tangle of bodies. I was led to his room, and trust me when I say that we both held nothing back. Diving under the sheets, I experienced a different kind of magic for the first time, one only caused by two peoples heart beats mending into one.

By morning my clothing were in a heap on the floor and his were strung randomly all over the room. I turned over to Draco, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. He was lying like a baby, undisturbed. Quietly I collected my things and left, only leaving a kiss on his forehead as proof that I had been there.

Hope was the only emotion with me that day as I walked around the ground of Hogwarts. Now I needed to find Hermione and tell her what had happened, and as my best friend it was only her right.

For the last few weeks I had seen less and less of Hermione, and it was very worrisome. I hoped everything was ok with us. Climbing up the long flights of stairs, I finally entered the door to my room.

I found Hermione sitting on her bed, a solem expression on her face.

"We need to talk."
