William walks up the stairs looks around, finds nothing and quickly heads back down. Speed walking, William heads back into the movie theater where he finds the lights are failing to work again. He shines his flashlight over the walls and it lands on Jay's Luigi hat from earlier. He brings the light to the door and moves towards it. He clicks off his flashlight before opening the door. The moment the light turns on, (the music stops and) the hostages start screaming through their gags.
All (but William): Help! Help!
William starts to bend down to untie the gags when he hears something. He looks up and toward his right (assuming the door opens outward to his left). There a shroud of blackness presides. The blackness envelopes him and nothing can be seen other than black.
Shannon (VO): Then, everything went black and all the last thing he heard was the cries of his friend's being silenced...
The scene fades into the fireplace scene where everybody but Joel and Shannon are fast asleep under blankets.
Joel: ...Well?
Shannon: Everybody else is asleep.
Joel: ...Well?
Shannon: Seriously?
Joel: (puppy dog eyes) ...Please?
Shannon: Fine. Later that morning, Abigail and Cameron were finishing their pancakes when Abigail realized something...
