Master Plan

- Good Morning, Sir.

- Good Morning, Major.

- Reporting for debriefing, Sir. More of a progress report so far.

- Ok, go ahead. Just be brief.

- Sure sir. Things are going ahead as we planned. They reacted just the way we predicted. So, all is going according to the master plan.

- Nice to hear that. Just give me a brief on what happened so far.

- You know what happened during our first attack two years back. They had no idea what the hell was happening. They were totally out of their wits. I guess they all soiled their pants and were running with toilet papers all the time. Let me tell you some funny things they did during that time...

- Stick to the point, Major

- Sorry sir. Well, as I said, they were out of their wits. They just went into hiding. As if they could hide from us. Their casualty was quite high. Many died and the hospitals were running way over capacity. Their livelihood virtually stopped.

- Hmmm

- After the initial shock, they started working on their defense. And they proceeded just as we predicted. They had no idea that their intelligence is getting only the information we wanted them to get. Based on the intelligence reports, they started working on the defense mechanism. These guys are so predictable. They started building the defense just as we thought they would be doing. They have no idea that what they are building is our ultimate goal. That this is going to cement our future for a while.

- Okay

- After the first wave, as was our plan, we cut some slack to get them a breather and to work on their defense. Our objective is not to destroy them, rather to make them more amicable to our needs. We also kept feeding them the information that would help to shape their defense the way we want it.

- Aha. What happened next?

- When they were a bit relaxed, we launched the second wave. And boy, this was deadly. The casualty was quite high again. And based on the information we fed them, they came to the conclusion that the defense they were working on is the ultimate way to prevent damages from any future assault. Again, that's what we predicted in our master plan. They started working on bringing a big chunk of their people under the defense system they have designed. You know, these guys are really funny. They are trying to play game inside game with the defense mechanism they are developing. Some of them...

- Ummm, stick to the point, major...

- Sorry, sir. Where was I? Ok, this time we have taken a slightly different approach. We are attacking more of them, but the casualty is significantly less. This made them confident that their defense is working and their plan now is to bring almost all of their population under the defense system as soon as they can. Again, as we planned...

- Good. Very good. What have they named their defense system?

- Actually sir, this is an old system of theirs. They call it vaccine. They just modified it based on our current attack pattern. We know about this vaccine from a long time back. Our master plan assumed that they will go for this and we fed them the information to build the vaccine to suit our needs. They don't have the slightest idea how this vaccine is going to make changes in their DNA which would help to make their bodies more inhabitable for us and also to adopt their body according to our needs. Sir, I must say, our master plan is a piece of genius. If things continue the way it is going, we don't have to worry till our next major phase in hundred year.

- That's what it looks like. One final question, which brigade is working now?

- Sir, Delta Brigade is being withdrawn now. Most of them have returned. Omicron Brigade is in action now.

- Thanks, Major. If you have nothing more to add...

- Sir, may I ask a question before I leave?

- Sure, Major.

- Sir, I know we have been writing in their DNA since the beginning. Why do we need to take this round way approach? Why can't we make these changes ourselves?

- Well, Major, you are absolutely right. We have been writing in their DNA all along. But some parts of their DNA is not accessible by us. When we need to make changes in those areas, we have to make them make the changes.

- Okay. Thank you, sir.
