"Hey babe," my boyfriend, A.K.A. captain of the football team, Jase said kissing my cheek.  "Hey, Jase," I replied.

"So, I'm coming over today." He grabbed my hand, interlacing our fingers. I smiled, leaning into him.

"Awesome," I said, "I'll tell my mom." He grinned and kissed me on the cheek once again before walking off  to his first class.

I watched him leave, then turned around to walk away to my own class. "Ugh," I grunted, shoving the unnecessarily heavy classroom door open.

"Yeah, she's hot as hell!" I heard one of the block-headed jocks say. I quietly snuck toward where they were having their little 'Fantasy Party'.

Please don't be talking about me please don't be talking about me! I silently prayed to myself.

"I would so do Lexi! She would be screaming my name all night when I shove my di-"

I covered my ears, shutting my eyes tightly. Ergh...Why does my life have to be this way?! "Good morning, class," our teacher, Mr. Donaldson greeted.

The class mumbled a response as he droned on. I kinda tuned out, though.

My father taught me multiplication when I was six and algebra when I was in third grade, so paying attention in class really wasn't an obligation for me.

The bell rang, snapping me put of my thoughts. I can't wait 'till the end of the day. I slugged out of the classroom.

"Hey mom!" I called as I entered the mansion. I paused for a moment, hearing nothing - then sighed because I realized that she wasn't even here.

She almost never was.

My dad died when I was only nine, and not having him here was really taking a toll on the family. Well, mom and me, really.

My mother was a full time doctor. She usually worked all night. I threw myself onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling. There was nothing to do in my house.

I mean, Mom bought me all these electronics to keep me entertained while she was gone, but after a while, I get bored.

My mother also knows that I'm lonely, so she bought me this adorable puppy named-

"Terry!" I screamed as I bent down to pick up my Yorkshire Terrier. I've had her ever since Dad died, and she's really stuck with me.

Not that she has much of a choice.

"What do you wanna do Ter? What do you wanna do?" I said, scratching her behind her ears. She licked my hand, causing me to laugh since it tickled so much.

She became restless and hopped out of my arms, running out of the room. I sighed. I just wished that one day, someone would come into my life and then poof! - I wouldn't be lonely anymore.

I mean, I know I have Jase, but between cheer practice for me and football, him, sometimes...

It's as if not even he is here.

Just then the doorbell rang, snapping me out of my thoughts. I quickly ran downstairs and opened the door, revealing Jase.

"Hey, babe," he smiled, kissing me softly. "Come in," I said once we had pulled away. He smiled, walking inside.

"Johanna!" I called. Almost immediately the maid came out of her quarters. "What can I do for you Lexi-Bear?" she asked with a sweet smile on her face.

I smiled back. "Can you prepare dinner, please?" She nodded and quickly walked off. Johanna was a sweet soul.

She's been there for me when I would always cry in the corner because I was so lonely - as funny and pathetic that may sound.
