"That Ayato"
Lady Guuji would say,
"He's always got something up those gigantic sleeves of his, maybe he should try on a more flattering outfit, then he wouldn't be such a scoundrel" she huffs, rolling her eyes.

As one of Yae Miko's shrine maidens, you hear about almost everything and everyone. Whenever a new rumor pops up, it's only natural for the Grand Narukami Shrine to receive word first — for the lucky people that know, the Narukami shrine is really the grand gossip palazzo of Inazuma.

Two months ago, Ayato Kamisato returned from his political adversaries, naturally becoming the center of conversation across the island. Rumors spread like wild fire — his name was constantly spilling from the mouths of the other shrine maidens. Apparently, he had met with a popular leader from Sumeru and created a bunch of new trade and shipping routes — because of it, business owners treated him as if he were a god. If the economy is not of your interest, he also supposedly got into a heated debate-turned-fist-fight with a rising legislator during a banquet in Fontaine, and won at that. People are still trying to figure out all the details, but he won't say anything beyond,
"He asked for it, really, I was just fulfilling his wishes"
or,
"Does it really matter? I won so who cares"

Everyday, it was like a new Ayato rumor was picked up for discussion, making him considerably more popular than he already was. Besides the controversy surrounding his name, he was one of the most fawned over — his appearance only adding to his popularity. His hair, a periwinkle blue, his eyes, a deep, consuming purple, and unlike his sisters which sat underneath her eye, his family inherited beauty mark lived on the right, bottom side of his mouth. You always hear the maidens talk about the mark whenever they speak of his charm — they say they wish to look at it up close, the reason unfathomable to you.

As he stands, leaning over you, you still don't understand the fuss around the mole.
"So, you came here to see my sister, right?" He asks, arms crossed in front of him.
"I have a few novels from lady Guuji for her", you say in monotony.
"She's not here right now," he replies, also in monotony, clearly mocking you.
"when do you have to get back to the shrine?"

You scan over his blank expression, trying to find answers to a variety of questions curating within your mind — What could this 'scoundrel' possibly want with you?

"Right now." you reply, escaping from whatever scheme he had floating around his head.

"No you don't"

"What."

"I know shrine maidens have flexible schedules, I helped design the new system, come with me."

You stood in front of the estate, completely dumbfounded by getting caught in what was supposed to be a typical, easy lie.
By trying to avoid his tricks, you walked right into one.. thoughtlessly.
Ayato glances back, seeing a face full of shock that doesn't match your apparent monotone character.
"Pfft" he laughs,
"let's go busy maiden"
He grabs your wrist firmly and pulls you along with him, your legs stumbling a bit to catch up with his long strides. You were not getting out of this one.

He brings you through the courtyard, the Kamisato sand garden well kept and healthy as always. The guards bow respectfully as their master and his 'guest' walk up the stair steps and onto the deck. The pink and orange of the setting sun run long shadows over the estate, a few early crickets chirping from their depths. The lanterns glow steadily, their light warm and ranged as you step by the courtyard's tea table. Ayato remains a blank, unreadable face, still dragging you by your wrist — It's starting to ache a bit.
You reach the impressively large door, two workers hurriedly opening it.
Ayato bows his head slightly as thanks, and you do the same. He then yanks you through the entryway without glancing back, your stomach dropping as you realize you'll be alone with him.
A few minutes pass by as he strides through the long, lighted hallways, with you trudging behind as his inevitable next victim. The walls are lined with stupidly expensive family heirlooms, from swords, to teacups, to books so old they're not supposed to be opened. You notice a vase you've seen in the shrine textbooks; it's as if he casually has a museum within his house.
You stop in front of a large, yumemiru wood door. He takes out a ring of keys as if from thin air, then unlocks the door, only pushing it open slightly before he is interrupted:
"Ayato!! My lord!" one of his servants call, running up to the two of you from the hall.
