My family. I started to sweat as I saw cops outside my house. I knew that my parents did very illegal things, but they promised me they would never get caught. It was obvious now that they lied. Everyone who does illegal stuff gets thrown into jail, and somehow, I always knew that this day would happen. I just wish it didn't happen this soon! My brain was swirling, and my older brother, Michael was crying, and that's when I realized. Oh snap. I thought to myself. The police weren't here to arrest my parents, they were here to rescue them from a fire. I tried to run inside the house, but before I could even move a muscle, Michael stopped me and yelled, " Don't! I don't want you to die!" I saw the tears in his eyes, and so I just stayed. Tears rolled down my eyes. I woke up. It was all just a dream, or, was it? I got out of bed, relieved to see both of my parents alive. They looked at me and rushed to me, but they were not rushing to me, they were rushing to my little sister, Hannah. She looked like she just got her nose ripped off. She always had bad nose bleeds, and this was one of the worst. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have that many nose bleeds at the age of 6 years old. Her face looked so frightened, and I have to admit, I felt bad for her. Even though I hated the little twerp, she must be so afraid. I walked back to my room, and read a book until I fell asleep. I woke up, again, and went to grab my backpack. I went to leave, but my father said, " Raine, where are you going with your backpack? It's the weekend." I sucked in a deep breath and said, " I'm going to Evan's house." My father scoffed and said, " Why are you hanging around Evan so much?" I left before I could answer. Evan was playing outside with the new dog he got. Evan looked at me and smiled. I finally walked to him and dried tears were on his face, so I asked, " Did Andrew scare you again?" Evan nodded. I hated Evan's older brother, Andrew, he was friends with my older brother, and Michael was equally as mean. I sat down in the grass and looked at the new addition to Evan's family. It was a German Shepard, and her name was Brownie. " Evan, do you think that our life will ever get better?" Evan looked at me and replied in a serious yet funny tone, " You know what. I don't know the answer to that question, which is a shame because I wish I did know the answer." I looked at the moving clouds and smiled. Evan got up and told me, " Raine, it's getting late, maybe you should head home." I sighed and said happily, " I'll see you tomorrow at school okay!"
