CALEB

I woke up with a disturbing vibration of my phone beside my pillow. With my hand, I reached for it near my lampshade table. I don't know who's calling. I didn't even bother to see who it was because of my dizziness and sleepiness.

With a yawn, I answered the call.

"Hello?" I greeted.

"Caleb. Good morning. Do you have a minute? Can we talk?" It's a girl's voice. It seems familiar. Hindi talaga gumagana ang utak ko tuwing umaga. I'm not a morning person after all. Damn. Now I remembered her name after a minute.

"Morning, Lavine. Why? What is it? Talk about what?"

"I'm sorry for waking you up but I wanted to talk to you about something important. So, you do have time?"

"Yeah sure. What time?"

"This morning. Pupunta ako diyan. Sa restaurant nalang tayo magkita. Okay lang ba?"

"Sure. No problem. Text me when you arrived. And I'll go down."

"Okay. See you, Caleb. Bye." Lavine ended the call.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang pag-uusapan namin. Ni hindi ko alam kung tungkol saan. Well, I need to fix my appearance first before Lavine arrives.

I have a quick shower and wore a polo shirt, khaki pants and rubber shoes for my footwear. I'm good. I'm ready to go.

Remembering why I liked her brought back so many memories.

We met in an unexpected place. I'm a heir to our family business. I was with my Dad for the opening of our chain of restaurant. I met her there and she was with her brother, Ivan Lombard. A businessman, too.

Nang nahagip ng paningin ko ang kabuuan niya, I just felt adrenaline rush throughout my body. I fell in love at first sight with her.

Worst situation is that my best buddy is also in love with her. We both loved her at first sight. Currently we're her suitors. Hindi niya pa rin ako sinasagot. Ganoon din kay Rylie.

I'm finished getting ready. Hinihintay ko nalang ang tawag o text ni Lavine kung nandito na ba siya.

My phone vibrated.

Lavine:
Nandito na ako. Just arrived. :)

I immediately typed a reply that I will be right down in a second.

I went straight to the elevator para mas madali akong makarating sa ibaba. Hotel ito na pagmamay-ari ko na binigay ni Dad sa akin when I'm 15 years old and I'm 17 years old now. Ang restaurant ay nasa 2nd floor ng hotel. I'm staying sa pinakamataas na floor kasama na diyan ang rooftop. I occupied the whole two floors.

I arrived and breathe deeply. Dumiretso na ako sa loob ng resto. Hindi naman siya mahirap hanapin. Nakaupo ito sa pinakadulo at hawak niya ang phone niya.

She simply stand out from the crowd. Wearing a simple white dress, she still looks lovely. Siya lang siguro ang babaeng nagustuhan ko na hindi na kailangan ang make up para gumanda. Her natural beauty is attractive enough to attract any man who laid their eyes on her.

I walked to her, while I'm on my way the crews greeted me their good mornings one by one. I don't really mind though so I greeted back also. Until I arrived near the table she's occupying. I greeted her first.

"Hey there, Lavine! Kanina ka pa?"

Lavine saw me and she smiled. Her lovely smile that I loved about her.
