Penelope sighed as she walked into the room for the table reading. She knew she would have to face him for the first time since the testing read with him. She smiled at a few of the other cast members as they took their assigned seats. She took her seat where her name was when she heard his voice.
"Penny Lane!"
She groaned, looking up to see her co-star and movie love interest, Chris Evans walk into the room, taking his seat next to her. She leaned over to him, "come on. You know I hate being called that. Can't we just try to get along?"
Chris nodded, locking eyes with her, "of course. I can be professional."
Penelope laughed at his smirk, "right." She sat and listened quietly as everyone introduced themselves until it was her turn. "My name is Penelope Edgars and I'll be playing the roll of Rachel Jones." She looked at Chris as he smiled.
"My name is Chris Evans and I'll be playing the roll of Tyler Sullivan."
Penelope smiled politely at the small applause before they went around, doing the table read. As they got to the first kiss they'd share on screen, she felt herself blush a bit at everyone watching them. She leaned over, kissing Chris on the cheek as she heard some boos from the rest of the cast.
Chris chuckled, "come on Penny. I think we can do better than that."
She nodded as Chris leaned towards her, placing his hand on her cheek. She felt his thumb rubbing her cheek gently as he closed the distance, pressing his lips gently to hers. He pulled back slightly before kissing her once more, cradling her lower lip between his as he felt her tease his upper lip before he pulled away.
He nodded as he watched her smirk, "better."
"Woo."
Penelope looked at the director, Pam who fanned her face with her script, making her and Chris laugh.
"That's the heat we need. I knew you guys had the best chemistry."
Chris smiled from Penelope to Pam as he sighed. He looked back at Penelope, locking with her amber eyes as she watched him, probably thinking the same thing he was; how were they supposed to get along long enough to keep up their chemistry.

After lunch, Chris and Penelope were called into the head producer Eddie's office where they found him and Pam waiting for them. They sat next to each other as Eddie smiled.
"So I was talking to Pam about you guys and we think that you guys should live together for the duration of the filming of the movie."
Chris groaned, shaking his head, "I already have a place I always rent when down here. And no offense, but we barely get along as it is. We can't live together."
Penelope nodded, "what he said. We can live together only if you want us to kill each other."
Pam smiled, "but if you live together, then you can learn to get along and it will transfer to the screen."
"Or it will make us hate each other more." Penelope looked at Chris who looked at her and nodded.
Pam stood up, "well you guys need to work it out. Penelope, you move into Chris's place." She looked at Chris, "you have more than one bedroom, right?"
Chris nodded, "yeah, I do. But no way."
Eddie chuckled, "yes way. Figure it out, now get out."
Penelope groaned as she watched Chris stand up, storming out of the office ahead of her.

Chris sighed as he opened the door to his rental house, nudging Dodger back to let Penelope into the house.
Penelope smiled, kneeling on the ground, "you have a dog?"
Chris rolled his eyes at Dodger licking her face, "yes and he's a traitor apparently. His name is Dodger."
"He's adorable." She stood up, sighing as she saw how irritated Chris was, "can't we just try to make the best of this?"
He shrugged, grabbing her bag as he led her upstairs. He pointed down the hall, "that's the master, where my room is." He opened a door to display a bedroom with a queen bed and dresser, "you can have this room. Your bathroom is across the hall."
Penelope nodded as Chris walked away towards his room. She scoffed, following him as she leaned against the doorframe, "Chris, come on. We are adults after all, aren't we?"
Chris walked towards her at the door until his body was directly in front of hers as he heard her breath catch, "we can be adults by not talking."
Penelope scoffed, "seriously? You can't still be mad simply because I said I wouldn't go out with you 10 years ago?" She placed her hands on his chest as she watched him swallow hard, "you just can't handle that there's a woman that doesn't want you?"
Chris shook his head, grabbing her hands from his chest, "no. I can't handle women that think they know me when they obviously don't."
She shrugged as she took a step away from him, "then we have time to get to know each other now Chris."
"No." He pushed her gently out of his room, "it's too late Penny."
Penelope scoffed as Chris slammed the door in her face. She went to her room, plopping onto the bed as she tried to think about why he would hate her so much.
