Lucian smirked at the boys reaction to his threat. He froze, unable to speak, mouth gaping like a fish. 'How pathetic.' Lucien thought to himself.
The boy's Greninja, however, was a different story.
It had stepped in between him and its trainer. It was furious.
"Ninja, greninja! Ja! Ninja! Gren!" It growled, low and threatening.
The boy, hearing his Greninja's threats, seemed to awaken. He was seething with anger. "That's never gonna happen!" He exclaimed.
Lucien sighed. "Oh well, I tried to be nice, but you leave me with no choice." He sneered as he grabbed three Poké Balls and tossed them up. From three flashes of light, emerged a Ariados, a Drapion, and a Houndoom.
The boy immediately noticed that the Houndoom was wearing a black collar on its neck that was embedded with a Houndoominite.
"I see you have a Houndoominite. Where's your key stone then?" He challenged.
Lucien smirked. "If you're lucky, I don't have to use it, for you'll be defeated by then."
The boy growled. "Greninja, Water Shuriken!"
"Ninja!!" It cried as it grabbed the giant Water Shuriken off its back and launched it at Ariados.
"Quickly Ariados, use Shadow Ball!!" Lucien demanded.
"Dos!" It cried as it sent a ball of shadow which met the Water Shuriken head on. In a moment, the Shuriken overwhelmed the Shadow Ball and came crashing into Ariados, knocking it out.
Lucien was surprised with the sheer power of the Shuriken. He was certain he would be wealthy after that day.
"Ariados, return!" Lucien demanded as he clipped the Poké Ball onto his belt.
"Drapion, use Pin Missile, and Houndoom, use Flamethrower!" Lucien demanded.
"Dr, drapion!!" Drapion cried as it released Pin Missile.
"Doom!!" Houndoom cried as it released a massive Flamethrower.
"Greninja, dodge it and then use Water Shuriken!" The boy commanded.
"Greninja!" His Greninja cried as it jumped away and again, flung a giant Water Shuriken at the oncoming attacks, which exploded in a massive amount of smoke.
Unfortunately for Lucien, his Drapion was knocked out due to the blast's massive shock wave.
Angrily, he recalled it to its Poké Ball before once again clipping it to his belt.
"Houndoom, use Smog!" Lucien called out.
"Houndoom!!!" Houndoom cried as a thick black smoke fired out of its maw and engulfed the boy and his Greninja.
"Now, use Crunch." Lucien said with an eerie grin. "Grab the greninja and hold it down!"
Houndoom charged forward, its teeth glowing.
"Don't let it catch you!" The boy warned. "Stop it with Aerial Ace!"
Greninja managed to avoid Houndoom's move and dashed around it, making it look around in confusion. Then, with extreme speed, he swiped at it with a glowing white fist. The Dark Pokémon winced, taking damage.
"Keep using Crunch." Lucien ordered.
Houndoom was going for it, and Greninja was only barely able to keep away from its fangs.
"Greninja, get away! Use double team to distract it!" The boy instructed, but he weren't fast enough. Houndoom caught Greninja and drove its teeth into its arm. Greninja and the boy both yelped in pain. Greninja tried its best to shake it off, but It was holding on tight.
"Hahaha, perfect. Camille, send over the band." Lucien cammanded.
"It's on its way now, sir." Camille responded.
"Greninja-!" The boy began, before stopping at the sound of something great and very strong. He looked upwards to see a massive metal ring. It looked like it was heading right towards them. "Greninja! Move!" The boy yelled, sheer panic dripping from his voice.
Greninja only had time to raise its hands for a move, but it was too late. A metal circle snapped around its waist and locked up tight.
Lucien recalled Houndoom to its Poké Ball as he witnessed the Greninja and the boy exchange a glance: one of sheer confused and worry, before the metallic band released an electric current so strong it forced Greninja and its trainer to their knees. It struggled and tried to pull on the metallic band, but it wouldn't move. Furious, Greninja turned to face him. Together, it and it's trainer forced themselves onto their feet.
Lucien could tell that the Greninja was ready to fight despite the electric band and the damage it obtained. It could, if it had to.
Lucien smirked. "Lights out." He said as he pressed on a controller he had hidden away in his pocket. The metallic band shot out a thick cloud of green gas.
The pair was soon out like a light in seconds.
Or at least, that's what Lucien thought.
As he walked over to the supposed unconscious pair, he found that they were on their hands and knees, trying their best to stay awake. The boy had his left hand vainly trying to block his nose and mouth from the poisonous gas, letting out painful sounding coughs. "...Gren..." The boy tried to speak before coughs consumed his body. His Greninja was also fighting the effects of the gas, trying to block its airway with its tongue.
Lucien was surprised for only a moment, as normally the gas would put any Pokémon to sleep within seconds.
'These two are strong.' He thought to himself. He pressed hard on a controller he had hidden away in his pocket.
Once again, the metallic band released another electric current, this one even stronger than the first. The pair screamed in pain before falling to the ground with a sickening thud. Electricity sparked around the unconscious pair.
Lucien smirked at the unconscious pair. "You should've listened to me before."
He turned towards one of his grunts. "Grab the Greninja, leave the boy." He instructed.
"Yes, Sir." They responded in unison as they walked over to the unconscious Greninja, who by now had de-evolved back into its normal form. The two grunts grabbed the Pokémon by its arms and dragged it away and loaded it onto their SUV.
"Sir, the boy could be of some use, are you sure we should just leave him?" A grunt by the name of Cassandra asked. "It would be rather foolish to let an asset like him just escape."
Lucien thought for a moment. "Hmm, you do have a point. We should keep taps on him for the time being. If we do need him, we'll know exactly where he'll be." He turned back to Cassandra. "I want you to take Brooke and keep tabs on the boy and report back if you find out anything to do with the boy's power. Understood."
"Yes Sir." Cassandra replied before walking away.
Lucien tapped on his comm. "Camille, we have the Greninja. Get the lab ready." He instructed.
"Yes Sir, right away Sir." Camille responded immediately as Lucian walked towards his SUV and drove away, leaving the unconscious boy behind in the woods.
