*5 Years Later*
It has been eight years since the world was upturned for a final time, when everyone who had disappeared returned as if no time had passed. Six years have passed since that accident that changed my life forever. And it had been five years that I have had the pleasure of calling Steve Rogers my husband.
Our family has grown in that time. We got pregnant over our honeymoon if that's telling of what we spent our time doing. This time it was twins. If I thought carrying one baby that had super soldier DNA made me huge, nothing could have prepared me for carrying twins. But our family was blessed with two more little girls who we named Natasha and Sarah, one after his fallen friend and one after his mom, both of who I'll never have the opportunity to meet.
It was Lucy's ninth birthday and her and her friends were currently chasing her younger siblings around the yard, waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive. I was observing from the kitchen window when I felt arms wrap around my waist. I sighed and leaned back into my husband's embrace. "I'll never understand how they have so much energy."
"It doesn't seem like we were ever that age, does it?"
"Mhmm," I said, not quite paying attention.
"What's on your mind love?"
"As awful as it sounds, I'm thinking how thankful I am that I got in that wreck six years ago."
"We've certainly come a long way since then, haven't we?"
"And we've still got so much more ahead." I say as I place his hands on my stomach.
"Again?" He asks, excitedly.
"You can't exactly act surprised when you're physically incapable of keeping your hands to yourself." I say with a laugh.
"Never. I love you Astoria Rogers."
"I love you too Steve Rogers. More than there are stars in the sky." I say back, kissing him.
