It's your birthday today. You didn't expect much from everyone since your friends and family have already wished you today. 'What could possibly go wrong?' you thought to yourself. Not to mention even though it's your birthday today, you're swamped with assignments and research for your final year project.
You sighed and continued typing on your laptop, alone in the university's computer room by yourself. Your mind didn't even thought for a moment that 'he' didn't bothered wishing you. 'He' didn't even left you a single message, not even a call or a missed call. Maybe you were wrong. Guess your brain decided to remind you. "Ah" you let out from your mouth in front of the laptop screen. Now you know what's wrong. You felt something was wrong earlier but you just brushed it off. Well, whoops. Here you are typing, practically rushing to finish up your final year project before the deadline and 'he' didn't even bother checking up on you. Not even on your birthday.
You just ignore the feeling and stared at the empty screen in front of you. You minimized the written essay page and stared at your laptop's wallpaper. There 'he' was. Smiling really brightly. You're laughing next to him and he was smiling really brightly, on your birthday. 2 years ago. Everything was perfect wasn't it?
The moment you both met, it was rainbows and butterflies everywhere. You loved him a lot of course. Even way before he met you. The way he held onto you on every nights after a long day of practice from work, you loved it so much. In fact, it made you fell for him anymore. So if everything was perfect, why aren't you both talking with one another?
Maybe it's because 'he' was too busy with their comeback. But for a whole year? You sighed even deeper realizing the fact that you'll be spending alone again on your birthday. All of a sudden, the lights went out. You got startled by this. The only thing that's lit up right now is your laptop screen. Don't know it's the fact that staring at his smile in complete darkness is what brought you to this but you started crying.
Warm tears filled up your eyes and rolled down your cheeks. You just sat there and cried, silently. You bit your lip hard and cried even harder as you stared at the laptop screen even longer.
Suddenly you smelled strawberries and butter filling up in the room. You wiped your tears and put on a confused face. 'Is that real or am i just too hungry?' you thought to yourself.
You were too into the delicious smell, you didn't even realize the figure standing in the doorway. You didn't even realize the smell of the delicious strawberries and butter is coming from that figure.
It took you awhile to realize there was a indeed figure there, standing in the darkness with what looks like it's holding something. It looked like it was facing towards you and it led out a sniffled cry. It walked towards you with lighted candles on something. And finally, you saw it's face. A face that you missed so much, you can't even tell if 'he' is really there or it's just all in your imagination.
"Hi. I've missed you." the male spoke to you whilst rubbing his tears with his hand sleeve. "S-Seungmin..." you trailed off. Seungmin gestured for you to blow out the candles on the cake. You immediately knew where the strawberries and butter scent came from. You closed your eyes and blew out the candles.
As soon as you did, Seungmin quickly put down the cake on a nearby table and hugged you tightly. "God I'm so sorry. I don't know where to even begin. I should have-" before he could even finish, you shushed him and rubbed his back. "I know. I know and it's not your fault, Minnie. I know you're so busy that you couldn't had the time to text me or call me." You replied with your eyes closed, listening to his heartbeat. He broke the hug and cupped your face.
"From now onwards, I'm spending every single night with you after practice. I can't afford to lose you, my love." he told you while looking into your eyes, deeply. You smiled at him. "Come on now we can get emotional later. We got a cake to cut." you said. Seungmin chuckled and pat your head.
