"Morning," my dad says as I walked downstairs, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. "Morning dad!" I replied as I headed towards the coffee machine. Yes, I am a coffee addict. Deal with it. After my morning cup of coffee, I ate some toast, got all my books into my backpack, and ran out of the door.
Just as I got to the bus stop, the bus pulled away. I groaned. Now, I have to walk to school and hope that I'm not late. I hefted my bag and started my walk. By the time I got Market Lane, it was already 9:10. There was no way that I could make I could make it to school on time. I sighed and continued my walk.
After a few minutes of endless walking, I got to my school's front door. Just as I was about to walk into the building, a sparkling, purple spike fell from the sky and crashed down right in front of me. I felt a weird powerful vibe coming out of the spike. The longer I stood in front of it, the stronger I felt. Suddenly, I felt intense pain. It hurt so badly that I let out a scream. Soon the pain receded. I gingerly touched my back, expecting to feel fabric. Instead I felt soft feathers. I immediately pulled out my phone and checked out my reflection.
On my back two bird-like wings protruded out of my back (A/N: It's not as painful as it sounds). Though the wings weren't normal sized. They were like really big.
Suddenly, the spike shook violently. Then it disappeared, turning the surrounding area back to its original state. I willed my wings to close. Instantly, my wings disappeared. With my new wings tucked away, I walked into the school.
Inside, I was met with a bone-crushing hug. It was my friend, Bella. "Where have you been? School started like an hour ago," she cried. "Well, ummm, I missed the bus and got lost as I was walking here!" I replied shrugging. Bella narrowed her eyes and said, "Once school is over, you are going to tell me everything."
~Ze Beautiful Time Skip~
After school, Bella and I walked to her house. Once inside her house, Bella dragged me to her bedroom. Then she proceeded to lock her door. After locking us inside, she went to sit on her bed and looked at me. I sighed and told her everything that happened this morning. Once I was done with my story, I showed her my wings. Which turned out to be not the best idea. My wings were so big, that they nearly knocked everything over. "I'm not the only one," Bella said happily. "What?!" I asked really confused. "A couple of weeks ago, I was going to the mall. When I was about to walk in a spike, just like yours, fell in front of me. This caused me to grow wings, also just like yours," she said as she opened up her wings. Thankfully by that time I had closed my wings, so Bella's bedroom was not filled with feathers.
