Chapter 14: Packing up

Chapter 14:

"No one can know about this." I pointed a finger sharply in Josh's face before waving my hand back and forth between us.

"Okay, I promise." Josh held up his right hand in oath.

"Not even your mother." I hissed warningly furrowing my eyebrows at him.

"You are never going to let that go." Josh sighed laughing, his laugh soon becoming contagious so we were both laughing.

"No." I giggled "I am not." Josh sauntered in my direction and wrapped him arms around my waist gently holding me in his arms he kissed my forehead gingerly breathing in deeply and I nuzzled my face into his neck.

"You smell nice." He commented.

"Strawberry banana." I responded blushing and smiling against him.

"What?"

"That's my shampoo, strawberry banana." I explained to him making Josh laughed again.

"What is it?" I asked turning my head the side so I was looking at Josh's profile, Josh moved his head so he was looking directly at me.

"You're so cute."

"Oh," I nuzzled my face back into his neck. "I know."

Suddenly we heard soft footsteps outside my door. I instantly took a step back from Josh and went to open my door to find Connor walking down the hall away from my door. I sighed in relief whipping my head back in so he didn't notice me.

"Hey Josh, I have to tell you something." I bit my lip remembering what had happened between Connor and I this morning.

"Sure, what's up." Josh was now lying back on my bed his head resting against the pillows.

"This morning Connor came into my room really early, and I pushed him away but, you should know he attempted to kiss me." I recalled the mornings events with Connor leaving out some details but admitting to Josh what had happened here this morning.

"I told him to let you be." Josh huffed his frustration as he stood.

"You can't confront him on it." I reminded Josh hurriedly.

"Why not?"

"You will get too possessive and he will find out that there is something going on between us." I brought up as Josh reached my bedroom door.

"You're right." He sighed.

"I am, and I have to go shower and get dressed so go talk to your mom I will be there soon."

"Okay." Josh agreed, I ran towards him mustering up all my courage and quickly pecking him on the cheek. Josh smiled and winked at me before I proceeded to the bathroom and he left.

After I showered I dressed in dark jean shorts, and pink long sleeve shirt with a 'v' neck and matching pink converse. When I had gotten dressed I did my hair and makeup quickly before hurrying to the living room where Josh, Connor and Michelle were waiting.

"Charlotte, I booked a flight to Kentucky that leaves at seven tonight." Michelle was the first to speak.

"Okay." I nodded sitting down closely next to Josh.

"Mom, would it be possible for Charlotte to stay with me after custody is signed over to you?" Josh asked almost pleading to his mother.

"You both asked me that," Michelle pointed out critically "What's your obsession with living together?" I tucked my hair behind my ear glancing towards Josh smirking humorously.
