Your day was shortly brightened by the reminder that you had your new favourite class in the afternoon, defence against the dark arts.

Upon entry you are greeted as usual, with a smile so bright, it lights up the whole room. Just a second of it melts away all your problems, like a warm shower on a cold morning.

'Good afternoon' he addresses everyone, locking eyes with you as he looks around at the class.

'Today we will be discussing the verdimillious charm and exploring its practical uses when duelling,' .

Everyone started mumbling about whether this had anything to do with the fact that Hogwarts was hosting the dementors from Azkaban whilst rumours spread that Sirius Black, was searching for a student to kill, one in particular, Harry Potter. Your Uncle had been free for months now, but the news had only just started to circulate in the media after an article from the Daily Prophet came out expressing concern for students returning to Hogwarts in September. Lord knows how they found out, it was supposed to be stop secret ministry business, so as not to worry the public but they have some pretty snoopy reporters on their team so its not really a surprise. It hasn't made your first couple of weeks back easy however as you have had to pretend to have no relation to Sirius, and be on high alert like everyone else, for his own safety.

The lesson follows along smoothly and as usual, Professor Lupin does a more than satisfactory job of explaining the theoretical aspects and displaying the practical features of the topic.

You picked up the verdimillious spell with ease, as learning charms had always been a proficiency of yours, sending bright green sparks out of your wand as Ron flew back during your practice-duel with him. Professor Lupin stared, stunned.

'That was excellent miss (y/n),' he said proudly as he lent Ron a hand to help him get up.

He continued to gawk at you in awe for the rest of the lesson and you were grateful you had spent a little extra time getting ready this morning, feel giddy whenever you saw your professor staring out the corner of your eye. You winked at him, flirtatiously and he turned bright red, immediately turning away and carrying on with the lesson.
