A Little Christmas Magic. Ch. 6. Snowy First Date. 12/19/00.

As Jonathan made his way home he thought about Jennifer and the conversation they had outside the Holly Inn. He had asked Jennifer on a date for tomorrow evening, and she said Yes. Inside the Holly Inn Jennifer made her way up to the Family Suite. Ali and Aurora had already changed their clothes for the night and were drinking hot cocoa with candy canes. Cora and Colin had gotten Stefanie ready for bed for the night, and was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Jennifer went into her room and changed out of her clothes for the night and took her hair down, and brushed it out before putting it in a ponytail for the night then went to talk to her family. Jennifer walked into the living room where her parents sat talking. Rosie looked up and smiled and asked Jennifer how was the Holiday Sing Along. "It was fun. Jennifer said as she sat down and made a mug of hot cocoa with a candy cane, but I wanted to talk to you and Dad. About what? Santa asked Jennifer. Jennifer took a deep breath and said What do you and Mom think of Jonathan. We were just talking about Jonathan before you walked into the room. Rosie said. But me and your Dad love Jonathan. He's a sweet, charming gentleman. Rosie added. Why? Santa asked. Jennifer looked at her parents and told them that Jonathan had asked her out on a date for tomorrow evening. And I said Yes. Jennifer said taking a sip of her hot cocoa with the candy cane. It's fine with us. Rosie said. Besides your long overdue to have a Romantic Evening out on the town. Santa said to Jennifer. As Jennifer finished up her hot cocoa with the candy cane her phone beeped with a text from Jonathan asking her to wear something Formal for tomorrow evening. What's going on tomorrow evening? Jennifer texted back. Just trust me. Jonathan said It's a surprise, and ended the text with a wink emoji. As Jennifer headed to her room   for the night she stopped in to check on her niece Stefanie. Stefanie was awake coming out of the bathroom after using it. Hey kiddo. Jennifer said. You okay? Yeah. Stefanie said I just had to use the bathroom is all. Are you ok? Stefanie said. I am. Jennifer replied. Me and Jonathan have a date tomorrow evening. If only I knew where Jonathan was taking me. Jennifer added. The Pre-Christmas Party is tomorrow evening in the Town Square where the Gazebo is. Stefanie said to her Aunt with a wink. Thanks sweetie. Jennifer said kissing her niece on her head before Stefanie went back to sleep for the night. Meanwhile Jonathan was home, and getting out of the shower before getting ready for bed for the night. As Jonathan laid in his bed he thought Jennifer, and their first date tomorrow evening. As everyone slept Abby and her Dad were up talking about Jonathan, and his actions toward her." Everything was Perfect. Abby said until that kid and her Nosy family interfered in my love life. It'll be fine. Her Dad said. Tomorrow morning I'll talk to Jonathan, and make him an offer he can't say No to. Thanks Dad.  Abby said. I wanna Marry him before Christmas. As the sun rose early the next morning Jonathan got up and got dressed before grabbing his keys to his Jaguar Electric SUV, and headed to the Diner to pick up the breakfast order. While Jonathan was waiting for his order Abby's Dad Robert walked in to get a cup of coffee and asked Jonathan to have a seat across from him. Jonathan rolled his eyes but sat down. We need to talk about Abby. Robert said. Before he could say anything else Jonathan got up and Flat out said he wasn't interested in what he had to say about Abby. You hurt her feelings when you left with that blond, and her family. Frankly I could care less about Abby and her feelings. Jonathan said crossly She's a Self-Centered, Selfish, Spoiled Brat. But Abby wants to Marry you before Christmas, and I'm offering you a Million Dollars to go back to Abby and Marry her. Robert said. Jonathan closed his eyes counted to three, and said Hell No. Not Now, Not Ever. Jonathan said as he picked up his order. The clerk behind the counter said Good for you Jonathan. You can do so much better than Abby. As Jonathan left the Diner and got in his SUV Robert chased after him and offered Jonathan Two Million to go back to Abby and Marry her. NO! Jonathan said loudly, and started his car and headed home. Unable to get Jonathan to change his mind Robert went home to tell Abby the bad news. As Robert made his way home to talk to Abby about his conversation with Jonathan this morning she wasn't gonna be happy. As Jonathan drove home he thought about the chat with Robert. If he thought offering him money to go back to his brat daughter was gonna work it didn't. He thought about his date this evening with Jennifer. Jonathan smiled. He got home with breakfast, and began to set it out on the counter for the family to grab. As the family grabbed the food his Dad noticed the look on his son's face. "Are you ok? John said. Jonathan looked at his Dad and let out a sigh before telling his family that Robert offered him money to go back to Abby and Marry her. Good Grief. Lucy said rolling her eyes. That girl is a Grade A pain in the butt. Ana replied. Amen. Drew and JD said at the same time. How do you feel about Jennifer. Jessica asked Jonathan. He smiled at his Mom, and said I Love her. Whoa. Drew said This is serious. Do you wanna Marry her? John said. Yes I do. Jonathan said. I wanna Marry Jennifer more then I wanna Marry the Spoiled Brat Abby. Jonathan added. As the morning went on the breakfast dishes were done food containers were broken down and tossed into the recycle bin. Both Lucy and Ana were drinking tea as they sat on the couch watching tv. Meanwhile Jonathan was upstairs with his Mom and Dad looking at Engagement Rings for Jennifer. After a few mins of looking at Rings Jonathan found the perfect one for Jennifer. It was an Oval Shaped White Sapphire 1/15 CT. T.W. Diamond Three Stone Engagement Ring in 10 K White Gold. Jonathan placed the order online to be picked up today. A min later the confirmation email came through letting Jonathan know the Ring will be ready for pick up at two-thirty this afternoon, and saved the email on his phone.  Jonathan kept track of time, and asked his two sisters in law to come with him to run a few quick errands. Sure. Lucy and Ana said together." As Jonathan, Lucy, and Ana head out the door Jonathan picks up a small list that he had made earlier of the stuff he needs to get before his date with Jennifer. Where are we off to first? Lucy said from the front passenger seat while Ana sat in the back. The Jewelry store. Jonathan said, and before you ask Yes I'm picking up an Engagement Ring for Jennifer. Ana whistled from the back seat and said You really do love Jennifer Don't you. Lucy stared at Jonathan. Yes I do. Jonathan said. They arrived at the Jewelry store and Jonathan dashed in real quick to pick up the Ring. While Jonathan, Lucy, and Ana were running errands Abby was having a fit after her Dad told her that he was unable to change Jonathan's mind this morning. At the Holly Inn Jennifer and Colin worked together to shut Abby and her Dad down. It turns out after some digging by Colin that Robert owed the IRS a chunk of money in back taxes. One phone call to the IRS from Jennifer, and the IRS was on their way to Merry and Bright, CO. to take them into custody. A few hours later the IRS agents arrived to take Abby and her Dad into custody while the agents seized everything of value in the amount of money the IRS were owed. After two days the IRS had their money, and what was left was Twenty Thousand Dollars which Robert and Abby thought they would get to keep, but that was not gonna happen according to the Mayor who had worked with the IRS agents. Instead the money was gonna get divided between the Merry and Bright General Hospital and the Halfway House for Unwanted Teens. With Robert and Abby broke they had no choice but to let go of their staff and sell the house. They stayed with Robert's parents until their house sold so they could move out of Merry and Bright, CO. Robert's parents inform him and Abby that their selling their home also so their stay is temporary. Meanwhile Jonathan, Lucy, and Ana have finished running errands after dropping his sisters in law at the family home Jonathan heads to his house to drop off the Ring, Chocolate, Popcorn, and soda for the movie. I just hope Jennifer likes The Polar Express. Jonathan thought to himself as he gently plucked the Rose petals off and dropped them on the floor. But first he had to get Santa's Blessing to propose to Jennifer. As much as he loved Jennifer he was not about to end up on the Naughty List with her Dad. Jonathan left his house and after locking the door and setting the alarm he made his way back to his car, and drove to the Holly Inn to talk to Santa Claus. Santa had just got off the elevator to check on Celia and her parents to see how they were doing? "We're good. Cathy said. Celia was still shaking even though the police took that vile person to jail. So we told her to take today off. Cameron said to Santa. Hopefully she'll feel much better by tomorrow. Cathy added. Feel free to help yourself to some coffee, tea, or hot cocoa. Cameron said before heading next door with his wife Cathy." Jonathan had just walked into the lobby while Santa poured himself some hot cocoa before adding the candy cane. Good morning Jonathan. Santa said without looking up as he unwrapped a candy cane to place in his hot cocoa. Santa took a sip of his cocoa, and asked Jonathan what could he do for him this morning. Jonathan took a few deep breaths and got his nerves under control and looked Santa in his eyes, but before Jonathan could say anything Santa smiled as he read the look on Jonathan's face. That's very sweet of you to come to me to ask for Jennifer's hand in Marriage. Santa said. Not a lot of proper, honest men would would do that. I didn't wanna offend you and end up on your Naughty List. Jonathan said calmly. Santa smiled and said Thank you, and as far as Jennifer's  hand in Marriage goes You have my Blessing so long as I get to perform the Ceremony. Thank you and it would be an Honor to have you Marry us. Jonathan said. Please don't tell Jennifer. Jonathan said I want it to be a surprise when I propose to her tonight. You have my word. Santa said as he sipped his hot cocoa. As Jonathan got ready to leave Santa asked Jonathan when and where the Ceremony will take place. This Christmas Eve at our family home. Jonathan said. At what time? Santa said. I was thinking 7:00pm. Jonathan said. That'll work. Santa said. Me and the rest of the Claus family have to leave that evening I'm still on the clock. Santa said. When we leave please promise me that you will Take care and Love Jennifer the way she deserves to be Taken care of and Loved. I will. Jonathan said as he took Santa's hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze.  A few mins later Jonathan left to get ready for his date tonight with Jennifer. As Jonathan and Jennifer got ready for their Date tonight the Mayor, and the Christmas Party Committee are working on the Town Square near the Snow covered Gazebo. Lights are strung around the railings, while icicle lights were hung around the top of the Gazebo.
