PARK SUNGHOON - ENHYPEN

𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊

Sora's teenage years were supposed to be like everyone else's, full of fun and carelessness and not giving a shit about anything. She was supposed to meet people she never thought existed and experience things she'd never experienced. Her life was supposed to be a movie, something she'd remember forever.

But now Sora was nineteen, at the end of her teenage years and on the verge of starting another decade. Everything she thought she'd experienced never happened. The people she thought she'd meet really didn't exist. Her life was not a fucking movie and she was sure that by the time she was thirty, she wouldn't even remember half of the things she said or did. Hell, she'd probably had blocked out the entirety of her teenage years by then.

Then she met Park Sunghoon.

Describing Park Sunghoon is perhaps one of the most difficult things Sora could do. He was beautiful, but even that didn't do him justice. He was a ray of sunlight that lit up any room he walked into. He was shy and quiet one second, then loud and enthusiastic the next. But what Sora loved most about him were his eyes because through them, she could see everything he saw, feel everything he felt. Park Sunghoon held stars in his eyes and the world in the palm of his hand.

However, Sora's relationship with Park Sunghoon was strange.

They weren't friends, but they weren't exactly dating either. He'd hold her hand in crowded places, making sure she were close to him, and immediately let go when they were surrounded by other friends. He'd offer to buy her lunch on weekends and would sit across from her, complimenting her and making her feel like the most special person on the face of the earth, then immediately deny they were dating when the waiter asked. He'd take her to the movies, only to stare at her the entire time and act like nothing had happened after. And he'd walk her home after, holding her hand again because he knew no one would notice under the dark night sky.

He made her heart race and the hibernating butterflies in her stomach come alive. He could say anything and she'd still smile. And though they weren't dating, Sora swore that along with the world, he held her heart.

But Sora's heart was a delicate thing, and it seemed that whenever Sunghoon held onto it too tightly, it would crack.

Perhaps it was because they never questioned their relationship allowed, or because they were still too young to know what they were doing or what they wanted. Or perhaps Park Sunghoon was just an asshole who enjoyed playing with her heart (though she'd seriously doubted it). Or perhaps she was simply too emotional.

Sora was never sure if Park Sunghoon was loved her, but she knew that she loved him. She loved him the way the ocean loved the moon, the way the flowers loved the rain. She loved him so much she felt her heart that rested in his palm could burst at any second.

"Sora," he called, resting his head back on his arms as he looked up at the clouded, blue sky. God, she loved the way her name rolled off his tongue. He made it sound as if her name was the most beautiful word she'd ever heard. "What are your thoughts on chocolate ice cream?"

"I prefer vanilla," she said, stretching her legs out on the grass and crossing them. "I prefer sweet things."

"That says a lot about you, you know."

"Is that a bad thing?" Sora asked.

He smiled, "No. I prefer vanilla, too."

Park Sunghoon enjoyed asking pointless questions, but there were moments when he'd run out of those pointless questions and they would sit in silence. It was an awkward silence, but it wasn't comfortable either. It was just... silence, giving them both time to think of what to say and what not to say, and Sora's thoughts were constantly filled with what not to say.
