Alex's POV
I walk to class with perfect timing and sat in the front row seat exited to meet the new kid. I'm not very popular, so a new student might be my chance to make more friends. I open my notebook to recap all the notes we took yesterday.
"Clink!" The door goes as a new face enters the classroom.
Finally, I thought. What kind of kid is late on there first day? I look back at the new kid to see a familiar face. I go pale as I finally recognize that deadly face.
It's Lucas my old best friend...Lucas POV
I'm gonna be late! I thought. I can't be late to my first day! I was running as fast as I could, the reason why I was late was because I missed the bus and slept in.
I opened the door and slowly walked in, then I saw him, Alex. I tried to avoid being seen by him but he saw me,"shit" I mumbled when I noticed he saw me, "Lucas, come to the front to introduce yourself."
I slowly walked up to the front, "Hi, my name is Lucas and um I hope we can be friends I guess." I said, I was a little nervous, I walked to the back trying to sit as faraway I can get from Alex.Alex's POV
I hear the teacher talking, but I'm too busy with so many thoughts about him in my head to hear her. I miss him, but I don't because of our last 'talk'. I hear his soft voice start to mumble as I instantly look up.
He says quietly, "Hi, my name is Lucas and um I hope we can be friends I guess."
I try not to laugh at his nervous cracky voice but left out a giggle. I watch him as he chooses the seat in the far back corner. For some reason it makes me mad, but a little sad too. I want to talk to him, but I'm too much of a coward to confront him. Times goes by fast as all these thoughts corrupt my head. I notice I haven't wrote a single thing since an hour ago. The teacher looks at me with a penetrating stare and asks, "Alex, have you even wrote a single thing in this past hour?"
I speak nervously, and reply, "Yes ma'am." Knowing that was a fat lie.
She looked at me as if she knew I was lying, but continues writing down the problem.
"Lucas can you come up to the front and answer this problem?" The teacher says towards Lucas.Lucas's POV
Time passed by pretty fast.
I saw the teacher walk up to Alex's desk and say, "Alex, have you even wrote a single thing in the past hour?"
Alex answered sounding very nervously saying "yes ma'am." He sounded so different and it was a little funny.
"Lucas, can you come up to the front and answer this problem?" The teacher says to me.
"Sure." I say as I walk up to the front."Alex's POV
He says yes and walks up to the front. I don't bother listening to it cause it's just stupid math crap anyways.
I hear the teacher say he got it correct, and I honestly don't care. I bite my pencil still thinking about him, and imagine how soft his lips are.
I turn red and try to get that thought out of my head. "His lips look so soft though.." I say not realizing that I said it out loud.
"What did you just say?!" The teacher says giving me an confused and annoyed face. I reply,
"U-um, it was from a book i um read this morning. Sorry ma'am." But I think the teacher doesn't believe that either. Surprisingly, she shrugs and walks back to the front. Then I start drawing him to maybe clear my mind. I draw his pretty face and gloomy eyes and it makes me feel butterflies in my stomach. Why do I feel this way? He used to be my best friend, and we just met again and I already feel this way. I wish that I could just stop feeling this burning sensation but I just can't.
